Blumenthal Performing Arts is pleased to announce the nominees competing in the 7th Annual High School Musical Theater Awards, also known as The Blumey Awards, presented by Wells Fargo on Sunday, May 20, at Belk Theater.

Broadway favorites Natalie Cortez, Evie Dolan, Santino Fontana, Heather Headley, Rebecca Luker, Norm Lewis, Beth Malone, Howard McGillin, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Laura Osnes, Taylor Trensch and more, perform as part of the celebration of the centennial of the American Theatre Wing. 

Deborah Grace Winer continues her 3-part Feinstein's/54 Below series of jewel box revues celebrating the Classic American Songbook on May 8th with A Jerome Robbins Centennial Concert hosted and directed by 3-time Tony winner Kathleen Marshall.

Emily Behrmann, General Manager for the Carlsen Center Presents Series, today announced the 2018-2019 season which features iconic women artists including Emmylou Harris, Chita Rivera, Aida Cuevas, Lisa Loeb and Marilyn Maye, scheduled to appear throughout the season. Just last night, the Dramatists Guild Foundation (DGF) gathered the best of Broadway at the Hudson Theatre to toast the life and work of one of American theatre's greatest living composers, Stephen Schwartz, on Monday, April 23, 2018 at 7pm EST. The star-filled concert, sponsored in part by the Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG) and the Hudson Theatre, showcased and shined a spotlight on Schwartz's beloved songs, stories, and legacy in celebration of his 70th Birthday. ASTEP (Artists Striving to End Poverty) has added more performers to the lineup for their inaugural gala, "ASTEP & Friends," on Monday, April 23, at 54 Below. Joel Perez, Noah Ricketts, Carrie Manalakos, and Mean Girls' Kyle Selig join previously announced performers, including Tony Award nominees Kate Baldwin and Laura Osnes, as well as Mean Girls' stars Erika Henningsen and Grey Henson, Hamilton's Sean Green Jr., and Jessica Vosk.

Though they played their final Broadway gig last fall, the Donny Nova Band is getting back together- this time for the big screen. According to Forbes, Bandstand, which won a Tony Award last year and played for 166 performances at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre, will arrive in movie theatres across the country this June.

On Monday, May 7, Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director/CEO) will host their fourth annual Casino Night, at the American Airlines Theatre (227 W. 42nd St). All proceeds benefit Roundabout Theatre Company's many programs, including the Education programs, the Theatrical Workforce Development Program and Artist Residencies.

Audiences have started to listen again at Studio 54. That's because Children of a Lesser God is back, and it officially opened last night on Broadway. Directed by Tony Award winner Kenny Leon, Children of a Lesser God stars film and television favorite Joshua Jackson and breakout star Lauren Ridloff, alongside Emmy Award winner and Golden Globe Award winner Anthony Edwards, Drama Desk Award nominee and Obie Award winner Kecia Lewis, Julee Cerda, Treshelle Edmond, and John McGinty.
