HOOKMAN an Existential Slasher Comedy Comes to Steep Theatre

Her mother warned her about the treacherous hook-handed man hiding in the back seat, but only after a tragic accident could Lexi see the real threat of the hookman. The bitingly funny, edge-of-your-seat scary Hookman is a lethally sharp slasher comedy about grief, adolescence, and the power of the stories we tell each other and ourselves. 

Stars Set for Billy Porter-Helmed TOPDOG/UNDERDOG at the Huntington

The Huntington Theatre Company presents the explosive Pulitzer Prize winner Topdog/Underdog by Suzan-Lori Parks and directed by Tony, Grammy, and Drama Desk Award winner Billy Porter (The Colored Museum at the Huntington and Lola in Kinky Boots on Broadway). Performances run March 10 - April 9, 2017 at the Avenue of the Arts / BU Theatre.

BWW Review: ArtsWest's Gripping MILK LIKE SUGAR Needs Some Time to Settle

A play like "Milk Like Sugar" about three teenage girls making a pact to all get pregnant while still in school would be a ridiculous premise if it weren't for the fact that it's based in reality. And while the current production at ArtsWest may boast some gripping performances, opening night also contained some glaring shortcomings that I hope will be overcome as the show settles over the run.

Huntington Theatre Co. Extends Ayad Akhtar's THE WHO AND THE WHAT

 The Huntington Theatre Company will present the provocative and moving drama The Who & the What by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Ayad Akhtar (Disgraced) and directed by Huntington Associate Producer M. Bevin O'Gara (Milk Like Sugar, Becoming Cuba). Performances begin Friday, March 31 and by popular demand the production has been extended through May 7, 2017 at the South End / Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA.

ArtsWest Announces MILK LIKE SUGAR

ArtsWest has just announced MILK LIKE SUGAR, Kirsten Greenidge's award-winning play about about young women and the intersection of class, race and opportunity. MILK LIKE SUGAR opens at the ArtsWest Playhouse and Gallery on March 2, performing Thursday through Sunday until March 25.  

WAR PAINT's Christine Ebersole and Patti LuPone to Headline Playwrights Horizons' 2017 Gala

Acclaimed Off-Broadway theater company Playwrights Horizons will hold its annual Spring Gala on Monday evening, May 8 at the event space 583 Park Avenue. Titled A CELEBRATION OF SONG, the evening will honor three of the company's exceptional alumni writers: Tony Award nominee Scott Frankel (Grey Gardens and Far From Heaven at Playwrights), Tony Award nominee Michael Korie (Grey Gardens and Far From Heaven at Playwrights) and Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner Doug Wright (I Am My Own Wife and Grey Gardens at Playwrights).

New Repertory Theatre to Stage Month-Long Festival of New Works by Joshua Sobol
