The multi Tony Award-winning production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's The King and I will transfer from Broadway to London this month following a critically acclaimed 16 month run at New York's Lincoln Center Theater and an unprecedented continuing record-breaking sold out USA tour.

Today's subject, Alexandra Silber, is known on both sides of the pond as a versatile, killer performer. This international dynamo is currently living her theatre life onstage at Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC) as Guenevere in Camelot. The production has been extended and now runs through July 8th in STC's Sydney Harman Hall space.

On 5 June, BroadwayWorld UK attended a special press rehearsal performance of the West End transfer of the multi-Tony Award-winning production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's The King and I.

The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra (HK Phil) closes its 2017/18 season with a dazzling, colourful and glitzy parade of Leonard Bernstein's greatest hits in two consecutive weeks. First in the row is the complete film of West Side Story with live orchestral music under the baton of conductor Jayce Ogren. Next is Celebrate Bernstein On Broadway! conducted by John Wilson and featuring musical and opera theatre stars Lorina Gore, Louise Dearman, Nadim Naaman and Nathaniel Hackmann in famous tunes including New York, New York, Glitter and be Gay, Maria and many more.

On June 5, 2018, the Fulton Theatre launches The Hunchback of Notre Dame, the theatre's season finale and biggest production of the 2017/2018 season.  The Hunchback of Notre Dame will also be one of the largest shows in the theatre's one hundred sixty six year history. Over ninety cast and choir members will take the stage amidst soaring bell towers, a gypsy village, and the bustling streets of fifteenth century Paris. Beneath the stage, a fourteen piece orchestra will bring to life the incredible music of the timeless classic.

In celebration of what would have been the year of Leonard Bernstein's 100th birthday, Sydney Symphony Orchestra (SSO) pays tribute to the acclaimed American composer, conductor, author lecturer and pianist with a concert of THE BERNSTEIN SONGBOOK, A MUSICAL THEATRE CELEBRATION.

Seth MacFarlane returns to Cafe Carlyle with a one-night only late show on Monday, May 14. Perhaps best known as the creator of the television series "Family Guy," MacFarlane's talents encompass every aspect of the entertainment industry. He has created some of the most popular content on television and film today while also expanding his career in the worlds of music, science and philanthropy. For this special concert, MacFarlane performs selections from the Great American Songbook, joined by his band, including Tom Rainer (piano), Chuck Berghofer (bass), Larry Koonse (guitar), Peter Erskine (drums), Dan Higgins (saxophone), and Joel McNeely (flute).

The Sydney Symphony Orchestra will join arts organisations around the world to salute the legacy of cultural giant Leonard Bernstein as part of the #BernsteinAt100 celebrations.  Legendary British conductor John Wilson, Australian soprano Lorina Gore, and Broadway stars Kim Criswell and Julian Ovenden will come together with the SSO to perform hits from West Side Story, On the Town, Candide and other musical theatre highlights from the Bernstein canon in three concerts at the Sydney Opera House on May 10-12.

Rooftop Films launched with a single screening of short films in 1997. While we've since grown tremendously-hosting over 45 events across the city every summer, with live music and after-parties- we continue to showcase new short films and the innovative filmmakers who use the form to experiment, challenge and amaze audiences. This summer, Rooftop Films will present over 100 short films in 13 programs, with each program curated thematically.

West End actress Louise Dearman is not only known for her roles as a leading lady, but is widely acclaimed for her work as an international arena and concert hall artist. Having performed with the prestigious John Wilson Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic, Louise - for the first time in several years - returns to The Other Palace stage with THIS IS ME, an intimate evening of songs from the world of musical theatre, including a first insight to tracks from her brand new album For You For Me, due for release this month.

Takao Osawa, the multi-award-winning actor and star of one of Japan's most popular television series JIN, will join the cast of THE KING AND I to play the Kralahome, trusted adviser to The King of Siam, when the smash hit musical transfers from Broadway to the London Palladium for "London's theatrical event of 2018" (Daily Express) on 21 June (Press Night 3 July).
