Atlantic Theater Company (Neil Pepe, Artistic Director; Jeffory Lawson, Managing Director) has just announceD complete casting for the world premiere production of Academy Award® winning film maker Ethan Coen's HAPPY HOUR, directed by Atlantic Artistic Director Neil Pepe (Speed-the-Plow).

The three one-act comedies that comprise Relatively Speaking are said to be connected by their common theme of finding humor blossoming from the family tree.  But really, don't be bothered with any themes or messages in this one.  All that matters is that playwrights Ethan Coen, Elaine May and Woody Allen, director John Turturro and a company loaded with top-notch comedy actors have whipped up a solid evening of laughs that just gets funnier and funnier as the night goes on.

On October 22, ABC-7 aired a half-hour special on the best of the new Broadway season, including AN EVENING WITH Patti LuPone AND Mandy Patinkin, Hugh Jackman ON BROADWAY, MAN AND BOY, PRIVATE LIVES, RELATIVELY SPEAKING and VENUS IN FUR. Classic Stage Company has announced the establishment of the Rosemarie Tichler Fund, which will annually award a young artist with a $3,500 grant.

The Town Hall's Seventh Annual Broadway Cabaret Festival continues with Elaine Stritch at The Town Hall on Saturday, October 22nd at 8pm and A Tribute to Judy Garland and The Art of American Dance on Friday, October 28th at 8pm. The festival is created, written and hosted by Scott Siegel and is presented in a new format of three consecutive weeks. (Broadway Originals! took place on Sunday, October 16th).

On November 7, at 7 p.m., the Museum of Jewish Heritage-A Living Memorial to the Holocaust and the Centro Primo Levi present the English premiere of The Mark of the Chemist, a staged reading starring John Turturro (O Brother, Where Art Thou) as Primo Levi and featuring New Yorker critic Joan Acocella and a soundscape by composer and guitar virtuoso Marco Cappelli (Art Spiegelman's In the Shadow of No Towers).

David Gordon has the rare gift of slyly slipping profound commentary into what appears a wacky good time. Example: 'DANCING HENRY FIVE,' which will be revived after four years at Peak Performances, October 6-9. Using physical staging, movie, music and select bits of Shakespeare's own language, this severely condensed version (from five hours to one hour) of the Bard's anti-war play takes on contemporary relevance through its veiled, and sometimes not-so-veiled, allusions to present day politics, love and war, proving some things never change.
