The Public Theater announced additional casting today for the 2017 Free Shakespeare in the Park season, beginning Tuesday, May 23 at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park, continuing a 55-year tradition of free theater in Central Park.

Thank You For Coming Out has announced ally to the LGBTQ community, Lauren Patten who is currently starring as Medium Alison in the Tony-winning musical FUN HOME, will be its Featured Storyteller on May 9 at 10:30pm at Magnet Theater.

Thank You For Coming Out is a fabulously funny improv show that features two different coming out stories each followed by an improv set (one musical). The stories you hear and the scenes you see are heartfelt, sometimes heart-wrenching, vulnerable, hilarious, fun, loving and supportive. We have a rotating cast of LGBTQ improvisers of all levels from all over New York City! Our actors range from newbies to Broadway sensations!

Television and theater actor Jeff Hiller will lead a free acting masterclass on Sunday, February 28th sponsored by the non-for-profit group BROADWAY SINGS FOR PRIDE (www.BroadwaySingsForPride.com) and Sound of Port Richmond on Staten Island.  This special masterclass will take place at Wagner College at 2:00pm-3:30pm.  The event is primarily open to Sound of Port RIchmond and Wagner College alumni.
