Charley Crockett's anticipated new full-length album, Lonesome As A Shadow, will be released April 20 and is now available for pre-order. In advance of the release, the album's first single, 'I Wanna Cry,' recently premiered at Rolling Stone who describes it as, '...a more soulful side of the traditional roots-based sound that Crockett first honed as a street performer in New Orleans.' In a recording studio in Memphis, Tennessee on a chilly December evening, four musicians came together for a visit and an impromptu jam session. That jam session at the famed Sun Record Studios would go down in history because the four musicians have become known as some of the greatest musicians in history. The four were Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley. The evening was recorded by Sam Philips of Sun Record Studios and it was an evening that will never be forgotten for those in attendance. Currently on tour, the MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET relives that evening and includes many songs that have become so memorable for so many. As the show makes a stop in San Antonio at the Tobin Center, BWW caught up with Taylor Gray who portrays Jerry Lee Lewis to get his perspective on playing Jerry Lee Lewis and how performing in the show has impacted his life.

Penobscot Theatre Company is proud to present The Grand Tour Plays The Highwaymen: A Tribute to Willie, Waylon, Johnny and Kris, February 23-25. Frequently referred to as 'the Mount Rushmore of country music,' The Highwaymen was American country music's first bona fide supergroup, an epic quartet of outlaw country's pioneering stars. Celebrating their impact is the same band the company engaged to pay toe-tapping tribute to George Jones in 2016: The Grand Tour, led by guitarist and vocalist Larry Tobias of New York City and featuring Andrew Crowe, who last graced the Bangor Opera House stage in Rock of Ages (2016) and previously starred in Duck Hunter Shoots Angel (2016) and Ring of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash (2015).
