Included in the casts will be the star of a current, long-running CBS television series, a star from one of the classic TV sitcoms of the 1970s and '80s, a Tony Award-winning, internationally-acclaimed baritone, and a veteran stage actor offering his final performance in his one-man show directed by an Oscar Award-winning director. Following a career as an stand-up comedian, actor and writer, Mark Roberts is set to premiere New Country, his eighth play, at the Cherry Lane Theatre on May 16-June 20. Best known for his TV work on Two and a Half Men and Mike & Molly, Roberts trained as an actor and began his theater career in 1982 outside Chicago, where he first worked with New Country's director David Harwell.

La Jolla Playhouse has announced the cast and creative team for its season opener, the world-premiere musical Come from Away, featuring book, music and lyrics by the Canadian husband-and-wife team Irene Sankoff and David Hein (My Mother's Lesbian Jewish Wiccan Wedding), directed by Playhouse Artistic Director Christopher Ashley. A co-production with Seattle Repertory Theatre, Come from Away will run May 29 - July 5 in the Sheila and Hughes Potiker Theatre (press opening Thursday, June 11).
