BWW Review: Meadow Brook Theatre's NEXT TO NORMAL is a Stand-Out Production

Sometimes when a theatre tackles a Broadway show that has recently ended, comparisons to that show make it tough not to compare the two, but that is not the case with Meadow Brook Theatre's production of Next to Normal. Not only did it do the original Broadway show justice with talented cast connecting with the audience emotionally, this production took an award winning show making it their own and standing out because of it.

NEXT TO NORMAL Begins 2/13 at at Meadow Brook Theatre

"When the world that once had color fades to white and gray and black…" sings Diana, a wife and mother, learning to live with her bipolar disorder. How does a "normal" suburban family cope with the stress, the treatment, the future? "Next to Normal"-winner of the 2010 Pulitzer Prize for drama-is one family's story of how to survive when the world seems to be crumbling.

BWW Reviews: THE HUNCHBACK VARIATIONS - Clear as a Bell at 59E59

In The Cherry Orchard, Anton Chekhov wrote: 'Suddenly a distant sound is heard, coming as if out of the sky, like the sound of a string snapping, slowly and sadly dying away.' Chicago's Theater Oobleck has decided to confront the mystery in its own "Picasso at the Lapin Agile" fashion with The Hunchback Variations, now at 59E59 Theaters.
