As Deadline reported this weekend, advanced tickets to Peter Jackson's upcoming, sprawling epic THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY are set to go on sale this Wednesday, Nov. 7. Tickets are available online or at theater box offices beginning at 12 PM Eastern Time. The film opens Dec. 14.

FX has picked up its acclaimed comedy series Wiflred for a third-season order of 13 episodes, it was announced today by Nick Grad, Executive Vice President of Original Programming for FX. Production of season three begins next spring and is slated to debut in June of 2013.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, a 'knowledgeable source' has revealed that funnyman Stephen Colbert will make a cameo appearance in Peter Jackson's upcoming HOBBIT trilogy. The Film Society of Lincoln Center's annual horror fest Scary Movies returns for its 6th edition featuring a blood-curdling collection of first-time New York City screenings of highly anticipated horror films and thrillers, genre rarities and fan favorites.

The 2012 American Film Market (AFM), set for October 31-November 7 in Santa Monica will screen more than 420 motion pictures, including 77 world premieres and 306 market premieres, for thousands of film buyers and industry professionals from more than 70 countries. FX has finalized the schedule for its two new late night comedy series. Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell, the weekly half-hour series from Executive Producer Chris Rock and starring standup comedian W. Kamau Bell, premieres tonight, August 9 at 11:00 PM E/P, following the six-week run of Brand X with Russell Brand, which debuted on Thursday, June 28 at 11:00 PM E/P.

Syfy is greenlighting Reunion Pictures' new series pilot High Moon, an adaptation of John Christopher's best-selling novel The Lotus Caves, it was announced today by Mark Stern, President, Original Content, Syfy, and Co-Head, Original Content, Universal Cable Productions. Reunion Pictures is producing the 90-minute pilot which is expected to begin production in Vancouver this fall.
