Casting has been announced for the Seattle engagement of Disney's NEWSIES.   The Tony Award-winning production will begin performances at The Paramount Theatre on Tuesday, April 26 for a limited engagement through Sunday, May 1.

Disney's Aladdin, the hit Broadway musical, will convert its in-person lottery into a digital lottery for a limited number of $30 tickets to every performance via AladdinTheMusical.com/lottery.

The Sacramento premiere of Disney's NEWSIES opens Tuesday, April 12 at 8:00 PM at the Community Center Theater for a limited engagement through Sunday, April 17. In Sacramento, NEWSIES will play Tuesday and Wednesday at 8:00 PM; Thursday at 2:00 PM and 8:00 PM; Friday at 8:00 PM; Saturday at 2:00 PM and 8:00 PM; and Sunday at 2:00 PM.

Cape Rep Theatre is celebrating its 31st season with an exciting line up of plays and musicals, including two Cape Cod premieres, one fresh from Broadway.

Casting has been announced for the San Jose engagement of Disney's NEWSIES. The Tony Award-winning production will begin performances at the Center for the Performing Arts (255 Almaden Blvd.) on Tuesday, May 10 for a limited engagement through Sunday, May 15.

In celebration of ALADDIN's 2nd anniversary on Broadway on Sunday, March 20th, 'TODAY' Co-Anchors Natalie Morales and Al Roker recently made cameo appearances in front of a sold-out crowd of more than 1,700 in a performance of the hit Broadway musical.

Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey's new musical adaptation of FREAKY FRIDAY is set for a second regional production at the Cleveland Playhouse for the spring of 2017. This announcement confirms that FREAKY FRIDAY will not be heading to Broadway and will continue to follow the MTI trajectory. As BroadwayWorld previously reported, the musical will also play the Signature Theatre in Arlington, VA this fall.

Frozen might not arrive on Broadway until 2018, but preparations for the stage musical are already beginning. According to an Equity casting notice, a developmental lab will be held this spring, with rehearsals running April 30 through May 13. Auditions commence for the roles of Anna (late teens to 20s) and Elsa (20s to early 30s) later this month. Auditions for the Denver and Broadway productions will not begin until summer 2016.

Berkshire Theatre Group's year-round education program, BTG PLAYS!, announces three events: the student-run, student-acted production Mirror, Mirror directed by high school student Caroline Sprague; BTG's 3rd Annual Encore! An Evening to Celebrate High School Musicals directed by Travis G. Daly; and BTG's 11th Annual Community Theatre Production Beauty and The Beast, directed by Travis G. Daly with music direction by Mark Gionfriddo and choreography by Kathy Jo Grover.

The Fulton Theatre has announced that it is one of the first regional theatres in the country to be awarded the rights to produce Disney's smash-hit musical Newsies from June 6 - July 23, 2017. Newsies will close out the previously announced 2016/2017 season.  The Fulton Theatre's Artistic Director Marc Robin stated "We are ecstatic to produce Newsies in 2017. This show is a perfect bookend to our season and will resonate with the Fulton's audiences, who appreciate a great book, incredible music and energetic dance."

Disney Theatrical Productions announced today that following the conclusion of the NEWSIES North American tour on October 2, 2016, multiple regional productions of the show will commence in summer 2017, in response to overwhelming public demand.
