After a well received and successful solo debut in London's West End and additional concerts through the UK, Danielle brings her cabaret to New York City to make her debut just steps away from the heart of Broadway. The evening will feature a celebration of music including performances of songs from shows that have shaped her career so far, West End favorites and some very special new material - and, some very special Broadway guests. Today in 1903, The Wizard of Oz opened at the Majestic Theatre, where it ran for 293 performances. Based on The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum, which was originally published in 1900, much of the original music was by Paul Tietjens and has been mostly forgotten, although it was still well-remembered and in discussion at MGM in the late 1930s, when the classic film version of the story was made. The main plot of the show, as recounted in newspapers of the time, is Pastoria's attempts to regain the throne from the Wizard of Oz. The original protagonists' search for the Wizard puts them on the wrong side of the law. Since then, many new incarnations have been created, including the 1939 film, and the 2011 West End musical.

As Told By Productions, the company behind the acclaimed production of The Last Five Years at Greenwich Theatre as well as the European premiere of Ryan Scott Oliver's 35MM: A Musical Exhibition, have launched a new arm producing theatre for families.

With a crash-of-drums-and-a-flash-of-light X Factor finalist Lloyd Daniels will make his musical theatre debut in the title role of the UKs longest running musical JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT. The youngest contestant in 2009's competition, Daniels got to the final 5 out of 250,000 entrants and performed in front of 10 million TV viewers. Since then he has performed to sold out arenas on a 56 date X Factor tour and released popular single Suburban Girl.

It's a swelteringly hot day in West London, and you can't help but feel a little sorry for the cast of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (beginning their UK tour this week). While production staff and scattered members of the press are wilting, gulping down as much water as possible and edging ever closer to the single fan in the rehearsal room, the company are ready to sing, dance and showcase their work.

West End theatres have raised over £83,000 for the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) Philippines Typhoon Appeal, it was announced today. Typhoon Haiyan wreaked devastation across the Philippines last November, affecting 14 million people and leaving 5 million homeless. Through a combination of audience collections, donations and a special gala performance, West End theatres have raised the funds for vital emergency aid and recovery work.
