Roots and Wings Theatrical has announced the world premiere production of RISE, directed by Samantha Shechtman. RISE will play a three-week limited engagement at Theatre 54 (244 W. 54th Street, 12th Floor). Performances begin Friday, April 5 and continue through Saturday, April 20. Opening Night is Friday, April 5 (8 p.m.).

Worldwide phenomenon and Worcester, Mass. native, Doug Stanhope, is coming back to New England to perform for his hometown fans at Foxwoods Resort Casino, as Comix welcomes the comic visionary to the Fox Theater stage on Saturday, May 11 at 8 p.m. Tickets will be available for presale through Comix and Ticketmaster on Wednesday, Mar. 13 at 10 a.m., and regular tickets will go on sale Friday, Mar. 15 at 10 a.m. Fans can purchase tickets in advance for $25, $35 and $45. Inspired by the world of "Cars" and directed by Disneytoon Studios veteran and aviation enthusiast Klay Hall ("King of the Hill," "The Simpsons"), "Disney's Planes" is an action-packed 3D animated comedy adventure about Dusty's dream of competing as a high-flying air racer-and his decidedly unfortunate fear of heights. The film takes off in theaters in 3D on Aug. 9, 2013.

Kicking off Lionsgate's (NYSE: LGF) new partnership with Codeblack Films to produce and distribute feature films and other projects for the urban market, Codeblack has acquired stand-up comedy mega-star Kevin Hart's concert film KEVIN HART: LET ME EXPLAIN, the Company announced today. The film is financed and executive produced by Hart and his Hartbeat Productions banner, and produced by Jeff Clanagan via the Codeblack Films banner. KEVIN HART: LET ME EXPLAIN captures the laughter, energy and mayhem from Hart's 2012 "Let Me Explain" concert tour, which spanned 10 countries and 80 cities, and generated over $32 million in ticket sales. Lionsgate's Summit Entertainment label is targeting a broad summer theatrical release over the July 4, 2013 holiday weekend. The film follows Codeblack's box office success KEVIN HART: LAUGH AT MY PAIN, which generated a stellar $7.7 million at the domestic box office playing in limited release in September 2011.
