THE ORPHANS' HOME CYCLE, a world premiere production of nine plays by Horton Foote that have been newly adapted by the Pulitzer Prize and Academy Award-winning playwright into a three-part theatrical event, will be co-produced in the 2009-2010 season by Signature Theatre Company (James Houghton, Founding Artistic Director; Erika Mallin, Executive Director) and Hartford Stage (Michael Wilson, Artistic Director; Michael Stotts, Managing Director).
The productions will be directed by Michael Wilson and performed at Hartford Stage from August 27, 2009 to October 17, 2009 and at Signature Theatre Company, from October 29, 2009 to April 11, 2010. Each part of the three part cycle will be staged individually as well as in repertory and one-day marathons. Audiences may choose to see the individual parts or the entire trilogy. THE ORPHANS' HOME CYCLE encompasses nine newly adapted plays by Mr. Foote, together for the first time. Mr. Foote, 92, is actively adapting each of the full-length plays, some previously produced and others never before seen, into one epic cycle.

Evans announce the Chicago premiere of the Tony Award-winning musical Grey Gardens, book by Doug Wright, lyrics by Michael Korie and music by Scott Frankel. The production, directed by BJ Jones with musical direction by Doug Peck, choreography by Marla Lampert and featuring Hollis Resnik, Tempe Thomas and Ann Whitney, has already been extended and will now run November 12-December 28, 2008, at Northlight Theatre, 9501 Skokie Blvd in Skokie.
New School Drama is partnering with the Drama League to have talented directors in its prestigious fellow program participate in its fall series of workshop productions of classic and contemporary works. Rattlestick Playwrights Theater's 14th Anniversary Gala, It's All About the Art, took place on October 6, 2008 at Caroline's on Broadway in New York City. Rattlestick celebrated the many artistic talents involved in their productions with this year's Gala, It's All About the Art, which featured a cocktail reception, dinner and a luxury auction of unique items and experiences in the company of Rattlestick alumni and friends. There was also be special entertainment, and proceeds went directly to support Rattlestick's pioneering theatrical work.

Directed by Dexter Bullard (Bug), the critically acclaimed production is being produced in association with Barrow Street Theatre. Performances began Thursday, August 28th, 2008. Opening night was Monday, September 8th at 7pm. The show will run now run through Saturday, October 11, 2008.
This first show in the Furious season is the West Coast premiere of the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize winning play, which recently finished an Off-Broadway run.
