Recognizing the powerful role music can play in a person's life at any age, the Music Institute of Chicago is offering a wide range of opportunities for adults to enhance their lives through musical instruction and performance in a fun, relaxed setting. Registration for Adult Studies and Adult Enrichment Programs is open, with classes beginning September 10 in Evanston, Winnetka and Lake Forest. The Cooperstown Summer Music Festival finale on Sunday, August 24 at 7:30 pm offers dance-infused chamber music by Bartok, Brown, Byrd, Schubert, Strauss, and del Aguila. Performers are the Momenta Quartet; Linda Chesis, flute; Moran Katz, clarinet; Olga Vinokur, piano. The concert will be held in the ballroom of the Otesaga Hotel in Cooperstown.

Today, Wells Fargo Center for the Arts announced four new shows to be presented at the Ruth Finley Person Theater (50 Mark West Springs Rd., Santa Rosa, CA): Grammy and Blues Award-winning ensemble Tedeschi Trucks Band on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 8:00 p.m., Irish music sensation Celtic Woman: Home for Christmas-The Symphony Tour on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at 8:00 PM, the critically acclaimed San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus: Home for the Holidays! on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 7:30 PM and the hit 1940's Big Band tribute show In the Mood on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at 3:00 PM. Yale School of Music announces the 2014-15 season of YALE IN NEW YORK. The series returns to Carnegie Hall for its eighth year, while expanding to include a special season opener at Avery Fisher Hall that features John Adams conducting the Yale Philharmonia and Brentano Quartet in a performance of Adams' Beethoven-inspired Absolute Jest and Beethoven's Symphony No. 4.

The Orion Ensemble, winner of the prestigious Chamber Music America/ASCAP Award for Adventurous Programming, opens its 22nd season with 'Stepping Out,' a program showcasing Chicago composer Jim Gailloreto and a combination of Romantic-era chamber music favorites and classical-jazz fusion pieces. Performances take place at First Baptist Church of Geneva September 28; Sherwood, The Community Music School of Columbia College Chicago October 1; and the Music Institute of Chicago's Nichols Concert Hall in Evanston October 5.
