Composer Jason Robert Brown announced that after last year's successful run at Birdland and a sold-out stint in London, he and Anika Noni Rose are coming back to New York with their show, The Caucasian Rhythm Brass Band, eight pieces strong. The concert will take place at the Abrons Arts Center at Henry Street Settlement, in the heart of the Lower East Side.

Joining Neil Patrick Harris in Company for the New York Philharmonic April 7-9 will be Patti LuPone as Joanne, Anika Noni Rose as Marta, Martha Plimpton as Sarah, Jim Walton as Larry and comedian Stephen Colbert as Harry.

Tyler Perry's For Colored Girls, which stars Janet Jackson, Anika Noni Rose, Whoopi Goldberg, Phylicia Rashad, Jurnee Smollett, Kimberly Elise, Kerry Washington, and Macy Gray, will be released on DVD on February. The DVD will feature an interactive documentary about the transformation from the play, as well as a featurette on the making of the movie.

Lincoln Center's acclaimed series American Songbook, which explores the best of the golden age of musical standards through to the best in current songwriting, will bring to the stage some of today's most gifted interpreters of song. Week Three is a Grammy Awards fest, as three of the four acts are current and past nominees. On February 2nd one can experience life in the Piedmont hills of the Carolinas via the vibrant sound of the Carolina Chocolate Drops. This three-piece string band plays old-time roots music with virtuoso playing of the banjo, fiddle, guitar, harmonica, jug and more. Next up is the crown princess of bossa nova, Bebel Gilberto. Gilberto has taken classic bossa nova rhythms and mixed them with modern pop - for a sound that is up for a Grammy this year. On February 4th perennial Grammy nominee Joan Osborne will perform an emotionally-charged work she has written with Jack Petruzzelli: Love and Hate - A Song Cycle. On February 5th, actress/singer Anika Noni Rose, a Tony winner for Caroline, Or Change, will make her eagerly-anticipated solo concert debut.

Bay Area Cabaret continues its landmark season at the historic Venetian Room with 'Vintage Rose,' the West Coast solo concert debut of Tony Award winner and A.C.T. alumna Anika Noni Rose. Direct from the Lincoln Center, where she will appear early in February as a part of its acclaimed American Songbook series, this intimate evening will feature songs made famous by Blossom Dearie, Lena Horne, and other legendary artists. Following a developmental workshop at the Vineyard in the fall of 2009 and a series of concert readings last summer by New York Stage and Film Company and the Powerhouse Program at Vassar, the musical ON A CLEAR DAY YOU CAN SEE FOREVER - with lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner, music by Burton Lane, a new book by Peter Parnell based on the original book byAlan Jay Lerner, and reconceived and directed by Michael Mayer - was supposed to next receive a production at the Vineyard Theatre. Now, reports Michael Riedel in the New York Post, the show will instead head straight to Broadway in the Fall of 2011, starring Harry Connick, Jr. There's no word on who will play his co-star, a role played by Anika Noni Rose at Vassar.

Barbara Cook's American Songbook performance, previously scheduled for January 12, has been postponed to allow the singer to recover from a medical procedure to remove a hernia. Ms. Cook will now perform on Tuesday, February 15, at 8:30 in The Allen Room.

No Song is Safe from Us, a ground-breaking new weekly radio series from NEW YORK FESTIVAL OF SONG (NYFOS), produced by the WFMT Radio Network of Chicago and hosted by legendary mezzo-soprano Frederica von Stade, premieres January 2 at 8PM (CST).
