Theater people are superstitious! The practices that relate to the fears have various origins. For example, 'the ghost of Thespis (the first known actor in ancient Greece) is said to wreak havoc upon theaters all over the world. The ghost light tradition-leaving a single lit bulb upstage center when the theater is empty-is meant to ward off these mischievous specters.'

THE FANTASTICKS, the Tom Jones (book and lyrics) and Harvey Schmidt (music) musical holds the honor of being 'the only Off-Broadway show to have won a Tony.' In addition, the show, which has been playing in New York for 56 years, is also the longest running theatrical production in American theater history.

Great Lakes Theater (GLT), Cleveland's Classic Company, concludes its 2016-17 season with the classic musical, The Fantasticks. The production will be performed in the company's intimate and audience-friendly home at the Hanna Theatre, Playhouse Square, May 13-29, 2016. Victoria Bussert directs the production. The Fantasticks is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).

?The award-winning Equity professional East Lynne Theater Company announces its 2015 Cape May Mainstage Season. This is ELTC's 35th year of delighting audiences with classic gems, a world premiere, and radio-style productions. The theme for 2015 is 'Unexpected Encounters."

It's a wonderful opportunity for patrons to ask such questions as "why do they do what they do?" and "how does one find these scripts?"

The award-winning Equity professional East Lynne Theater Company presents the 1912 Broadway sensation, "Within the Law," from September 17 through October 12, with an 8:00p.m. curtain, and a Wednesday through Saturday schedule, except there is no show on Wednesday, October 8, and an added show on Sunday, October 12 at 7:30p.m.

New Light Theater Project will present a special two-night engagement at the Laurie Beechman Theatre on 42nd Street for 2 nights only: November 2 and 6 at 7:00PM.
