Kim Yarbrough Stars In ME & MS. PEACHES An Etta James Tribute

Second season Voice finalist Kim Yarbrough comes to Palm Desert on Sunday, July 15th for her one-women tribute to singer Etta James with "Me And Ms. Peaches. She will be joined by a live band for the show in the Arthur Newman Theater at the Joslyn Center at 73750 Catalina Way in Palm Desert. Her performance is part of the 9th season of the Cabaret On Sundays Summer Series presented by Les Michaels. Showtime is 2 pm for this one performance only and tickets are $15 cash only at the box office that opens at 1 PM.

Kim Yarbrough's singing career is vast, from theater and stage, to gospel headliner, to disco diva. Her crossover hit single "Brand New Day (Strong Enough)"; produced by music legend Rick Gianatos is played in dance clubs International and was the inspiration for a full-length music video. Many of Kim's fans first discovered her on Season 2 of The Voice on NBC, where she made it to the finals under the direction of her coach, Adam Levine. As an actress working in Hollywood, Kim has guest starred on major TV series such as Bones, The Defenders, Vegas, and 2 Broke Girls, and recurring roles in Dexter, Conan O'Brien Show, and The Haunted Hathaways on Nickelodeon Network. If that's not enough, Kim is also a classical violinist who began her music studies at the age of just 8 years old.

Kim Yarbrough's show, "Me And Ms. Peaches" can be called a labor of love, as a fan of famed singer Etta James; they both share a love for Jazz, R & B, Soul, Rock and Roll, and Gospel. Ms. Yarbrough's show will feature Etta James story and plight from a troubled upbringing, many personal heart ships, and rise to fame. Nicknamed Ms. Peaches, her songs include "A Sunday Kind Of Love, "Something's Got A Hold On Me", and signature hit "At Last", more recently used in TV commercials for Jaguar. One of Etta's personal career highlights was singing "When The Saints Come Marching In" at the 1984 Summer Olympics Opening Ceremonies. In 2008 Beyoncé Knowles immortalized her life in the film Cadillac Records, and in 2009 Etta James made her final television appearance singing "At Last" on Dancing With The Stars at the age of 71.
