Primary Stages Will Honor Judy Gold at 2019 Spring Fling

Primary Stages announced today that the Primary Stages 2019 Spring Fling will benefit the Primary Stage Einhorn School of Performing Arts (ESPA) on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 6:00 pm. The event, which will be held at WNYC's The Greene Space (44 Charlton Street), will honor Emmy Award-winning comedian Judy Gold with the Einhorn Mentorship Award.Tickets and sponsorship packages are available now at primarystages.org/spring-fling.

The Third Annual Spring Fling will feature restaurant stations, DJ and comedic entertainment, foodie-inspired raffles including private wine and cheese tastings, exclusive cooking classes, and special dining experiences. Acclaimed comic Lewis Black will present the Einhorn Mentorship Award to Emmy Award-winning comedian, writer, and ESPA instructor Judy Gold. Proceeds from the event directly benefit the Primary Stages Einhorn School of Performing Arts (ESPA), which nurtures playwrights, actors, and directors in all stages of their careers and from all corners of the globe.

The Einhorn Mentorship Award was established in 2017 to recognize a leader who inspires and advocates for the next generation of artists, embodies the values and exuberant energy Annie and Marvin Einhorn were known for, and serves as an extraordinary mentor in our community. Past honorees include Tony Award winner Jeanine Tesori and acclaimed director Kimberly Senior.

The evening will begin with VIP access at 6:00pm and general admission at 7:00pm. Restaurant partners include Highlands NYC,Casa La Femme, Left Bank, Amity Hall, Great Performances, and more to be announced.

The final production of Primary Stages 2018/19 Season is Little Women, written by Kate Hamill (Pride and Prejudice), based on the novel by Louisa May Alcott, and directed by Sarna Lapine (Sunday in the Park with George). Performances begin at the Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce St, New York, NY, 10014) on May 15, 2019 with opening night set for Tuesday, June 4, for a run through June 29, 2019. Primary Stages' recently announced 35th Anniversary Season will begin in Fall 2019 with Untitled Sex Project, written by and starring Tony and Grammy Award winner Billy Porter and directed by Tony Award nominee Sheryl Kaller. The season will continue in Winter 2020 with The Confession of Lily Dare, written by and starring Charles Busch, directed by Carl Andress.
