Where have all the musical writers & filmmakers gone? The deadline for submission to the International CringeFest's Bad Musicals Festival & Bad Films Festival has been extended to March 31 to encourage submissions. Wanted are scripts or films that are REALLY GOOD, HIGHLY ENTERTAINING, NICE 'n NAUGHTY: politically incorrect, political satire, irreverent, bad language/ bad puns, or otherwise frowned upon by "polite" society.

Writers vie for the Golden Pineapple, Silver Tomato, and Bronze Banana. The '08 festival at the Producers' Club was the biggest one yet, attracting large audiences, Broadway producers, reviewers, and more. Liz Smith wrote it up three times in her columns in the Post and Variety. Coverage has appeared in The New York Times, New York Magazine, TimeOut, and other major media.

The CringeFest will be presented in the Grand Theatre at the Producers' Club on W. 44th St., as well as Downeast Arts Center in the East Village. 5 to 45 mins., produced/ unproduced, comedy/ dramedy. For the Bad Plays Festival, the deadline remains 2/28. This extension is only for musicals and films.

Support materials welcome but not required. Scripts read aloud and films viewed 2-3 times before decisions made. NO SASE; submissions not returned.

Guidelines/ app on website: www.NYartists.org.

Submissions will not be accepted from applicants who have not read/ followed guidelines and filled out application form. If you have further questions, email: Nyartunltd@aol.com. Deadline for musicals and films: 3/31/09. Response: by 5/01/09 or earlier.
