SHOW SYNOPSIS:
Jeremy Heere is just an average teenager. That is, until he finds out about “The Squip,” a tiny supercomputer that promises to bring him everything he desires most: a date with Christine, an invite to the raddest party of the year and a chance to survive life in his suburban New Jersey high school. But is being the most popular guy in school worth the risk? A hit on Broadway and in the West End, Be More Chill is based on the novel by Ned Vizzini.
Come audition for Be More Chill The Musical! We are looking for strong singers, actors, and dancers, 18+, to round out our lead and ensemble cast.

Auditions will be held on Dec. 20th & 21st 2025, by appointment only at Carousel Theatre for Young People on Granville Island, located @ 1411 Cartwright St, Vancouver, BC. Self-tapes are due on Dec 19th 2025, and can be sent to
theatre@xoxotv.ca. Callbacks, if required, are on Jan. 3rd 2026. **Submissions for in-person auditions will be accepted until all slots are filled.

Rehearsals will begin April. 30th, 2026 and will be as follows:

As this is a community theatre production: all roles in this production are volunteer. There is no fee/membership to audition or be part of the production.

**Scenes of a sexual nature, strong language and cursing, references to self-harm, drug use, suicide and sex.
“Be More Chill” contains several onstage moments of physical intimacy, including choreographed kissing for some roles, (Jeremy, Christine, Chloe, Jake, Brooke). An Intimacy Director will be present throughout the rehearsal process to ensure all intimate scenes are approached safely, respectfully, and with the full consent and comfort of the actors involved.
**All actors looking to audition must be at least 18-years of age by our first rehearsal date, April 30th, to participate in this production.

**What to prepare for BOTH in-person and online auditions:
1. A 32-bar/1-2 minute cut of an upbeat musical theatre song that showcases your range. For in-person auditions: please bring sheet music in your key and mark any cuts in the music for our accompanists. For self-tapes, a backing track is fine.
2. A 1-2 minute contemporary, comedic monologue - must be memorized.
