The Over Our Head Players will be holding open auditions for the 22nd Annual Snowdance 10 Minute Comedy Festival.
Auditions will be held on Tuesday, November 25th at 7:00pm at the Sixth Street Theatre, 318 Sixth Street, Racine, WI, 53403. Auditions will consist of cold reading from the scripts. Bringing a prepared monologue is not required.
This popular annual event will feature up to 10 plays from scripts sent in from all corners of the globe. There were over 800 scripts submitted this year. All of the plays are read, and the finalists are chosen by the theatre’s reading committee. All selected plays are performed each night, and the audience gets to vote on their favorites. At the end of the run, cash prizes are awarded to the top three vote getters.
The cast will consist of anywhere from 8-12 male and female actors who will be performing all of the chosen 10-minute plays for the festival, as well as local humor hijinks between the plays. Actors can be any age and from any background. A cast that varies in age and background is always encouraged and preferred.
Rehearsals will begin in December. Performances will run from Friday, February 6th through Sunday, March 8th. Shows run Thursdays at 7:00pm, Fridays at 8:00pm, Saturdays at 5:00 and 8:00pm, and Sundays at 2:30pm.
If there are any questions, or if you have a conflict with the audition date, please reach out to Managing Artistic Director Rich Smith at
