TERR NOVA Opens at Titirangi Theatre, 6/7

By: Jun. 04, 2011

Our next production will be Terra Nova by Ted Tally.  Director Liz Watkinson
7th to 18th June

Drawn from the journals and letters found on the frozen body of Captain Scott, this epic Antarctic adventure unfolds on stage in all its stark tragedy.

The action of the play blends scenes of the explorer and his men at various stages of their ordeal, with flashbacks of Scott and his young wife and with fateful glimpses of his Norwegian rival, Roald Amundsen, whose party beat him to the South Pole.

With chilling intensity Terra Nova ‘explores the heart of courage in a white hell of adversity.'

The Titirangi Theatre is located in 'The Basement' of Lopdell House in Titirangi - just a moment's stroll from the village shops and restaurants.

The theatre seats anywhere from 80-95 depending upon the nature of each play. Due to the intimate size of the theatre, sell-out performances are not uncommon - so early bookings are advised!

Titirangi Theatre is dedicated to offering the highest quality live theatre possible while retaining the cost-friendly, easily accessible and intimate environment that amateur productions are able to provide.
