The Csillagszem? Dance Ensemble was founded by Sándor Tímár and Böske Tímár in 1993. A private company with a uniquely large membership in Hungary of 700, it is one of the most prestigious ensembles on the Hungarian dancing scene, recognized with both the Hungarian Heritage Prize and the Prima Primissima Prize. The ensemble has travelled most of the world, popularizing Hungarian dance culture with sweeping success everywhere it has visited. This celebratory gala evening will embrace the most successful of the group’s productions of the past two decades, recalling the milestones of its career so far with the assistance of film projections and interviews. All 700 dancers will take part in the performance, from 3-year-olds to the adult generation. As a special treat, the evening will also feature a dance prepared especially for the occasion by the founders of the ensemble, among whom the oldest dancers, though they have already danced for 20 years, are still only 26 years old.
