SPRING AWAKENING - SPT 5

SEEKING:

  • WENDLA – THIS ROLE HAS BEEN CAST. Innocent. With every passing day, she grows more curious about the world around her and her changing body. Both vulnerable and a willing participant in her evolution. Explores her newly-found sexuality with Melchior. Vocal range top: E5, Vocal range bottom: E3
  • MELCHOIR – THIS ROLE HAS BEEN CAST. A smart, headstrong boy who refuses to bow down to society’s rules. An atheist and radical student. Struggles with his intense feelings for Wendla and his awakening sexual urges. Vocal range top: B4, Vocal range bottom: G2
  • MARTHA – THIS ROLE HAS BEEN CAST. A schoolgirl who faces constant physical abuse from her father. She harbors a secret crush towards Moritz. Vocal range top: E5, Vocal range bottom: E3
  • MORITZ – Melchior's best friend, a troubled student. He desperately tries to please his father but always seems to disappoint him. His haunting sexual dreams and academic failures eventually drive him to suicidal thoughts. Vocal range top: A4, Vocal range bottom: C3
  • THEA – THIS ROLE HAS BEEN CAST. Wendla’s best friend. A schoolgirl who tries to stay innocent and pure. Vocal range top: E5, Vocal range bottom: E3
  • HANSCHEN – THIS ROLE HAS BEEN CAST. A rather narcissistic schoolmate of Melchior’s. He is comfortable with his own sexuality and uses his looks and intelligence to captivate Ernst. Optional Doubling as RUPERT. Vocal range top: D5, Vocal range bottom: Ab2
  • ANNA – THIS ROLE HAS BEEN CAST. A German schoolgirl and Martha's best friend. Optimistic and a bit naive, she has a difficult time understanding Martha’s trials. Vocal range top: C5, Vocal range bottom: E3
  • ERNST – THIS ROLE HAS BEEN CAST. A schoolmate of Melchior’s. Naive and easily manipulated, which allows him to fall in love with Hanschen. Vocal range top: A4, Vocal range bottom: Ab2
  • ILSE – THIS ROLE HAS BEEN CAST. Martha’s sister, who was also abused and has run away from home to live in an artists’ colony. She reaches out to her old friend Moritz in the last moments of his life. Vocal range top: E5, Vocal range bottom: E3

I AM MY OWN WIFE - SPT 1

Rehearsals: September 22 - October 14, 2026
Performances: Oct 15 - Nov 1, 2026

PERFORMER: THIS ROLE HAS BEEN CAST. All 40 characters in Doug Wright’s Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winning play. The play requires vocal and physical dexterity to switch between characters throughout, strong memorization skills, and expert control of multiple accents including German, standard American, Texan, and more. Some lines and words are spoken in German.

GREMLINS! (MOSTLY) - SPT 5

Rehearsals: November 10 - December 2, 2026
Performances: December 3-20, 2026

SEEKING:

  • Billie – F, a teenager. She’s a teen in our base reality and plays the lead, Billy, in the version of Gremlins her grandfather is telling her.
  • Grandfather – M, 40s – 60. He’s telling the story of Gremlins and plays the father and a couple of other characters in the story.
  • Ensemble – A diverse group of 4 or 5 comic actors who play multiple characters in the story of Gremlins with some light puppetry.

DEAR JACK, DEAR LOUISE - SPT 1

Rehearsals: January 12 - February 3, 2027
Performances: February 4-21, 2027

SEEKING:

  • JACK LUDWIG (Male) Age range 30-35: Practical and somewhat reserved. He is Jewish and was born and raised in York, Pennsylvania. Drafted into the Army in WWII, he is a medic stationed in Medford, Oregon. He is a bit proper and shy about dating. He writes to Louise and hopes to date her (their fathers are friends). He is enchanted by her freedom and her passion to be a Broadway actress. They fall in love through their letters.
  • LOUISE RABINER (Female) Age range 24-29: A passionate young dancer and actress who has big dreams of reaching Broadway. She is Jewish and Brooklyn born and raised, but lives in the theatre district at the Curtain Call Boarding House for young actresses who train and audition to make it in New York. She writes letters back and forth to Jack. She is taken with his shyness and reserve and falls in love with him through their letters.

RUMORS - SPT 5

Rehearsals: February 16 - March 10, 2027
Performances: March 11-28, 2027

SEEKING:

  • KEN GORMAN – (Male, 30 – 50s) A well-to-do lawyer. Wealthy, but by no means pretentious. Takes charge of the situation. Married to Chris. Halfway through the show, a gunshot causes his temporary deafness.
  • CHRIS GORMAN – (Female, 30 – 50s) Another lawyer, married to Ken. Beautiful, easily flustered. Frantically tries to maintain normalcy at the party. Has recently quit smoking, which drives her to drink a bit more.
  • LENNY GANZ – (Male, 30 – 50s) A wealthy accountant, distraught over the recent destruction of his new car. Starts the show with an extreme case of whiplash. Intolerant of the gossipy lifestyle that he is often involved in.
  • CLAIRE GANZ – (Female, 30 – 50s) Lenny’s wife. Very concerned with appearances (hers and others’). Starts the play with a swollen lip. Likes to gossip.
  • ERNIE CUSACK – (Male, Early 50s) a psychiatrist. Affable, smokes a pipe. Loves his wife very much. Tries to be as helpful as possible cooking the evening’s dinner.
  • COOKIE CUSACK – (Female, 40s) has her own cooking show. Suffers from extreme back spasms. Loves her husband very much. A bit absent-minded at times.
  • GLENN COOPER – (Male, 30-40) A handsome man running for State Senate. Worried about his own reputation. Struggles with placating his wife, who is convinced he is having an affair (which he may or may not be).
  • CASSIE COOPER – (Female late 20s, early 30s) - Glenn’s beautiful wife. Obsesses over her husband's relationships with other women. Quick to anger. Must rub her quartz crystal to calm herself down.
  • OFFICER WELCH – (Male, 30-50) A city police officer having a rough night. Does not tolerate lying. Sees through the “classy” façade that these high-society types put up.
  • OFFICER PUDNEY – (Female, 20-50) Welch’s partner. A strong but silent type.

MISS MARGARIDA'S WAY - SPT 1

Intense Adult Themes and Strong Language

SEEKING:

  • Dawn: F#3-G5. Sixteen. An evangelical Christian girl with strong convictions but a good heart. Leader of a teen chastity group called the Promise Keeper Girls.
  • Pastor: D3-E4. Late forties to early fifties. Dawn’s charismatic but extremely pious stepfather. Doubles as DR. GODFREY (Late forties to early fifties. A local gynecologist.) and GODFATHER (A charismatic Australian online influencer who leads the truthseekers on a platform called Truthseeker Premium. He is only ever heard and not seen).
  • Brad: G2-A4. Seventeen. Dawn’s stepbrother and Pastor’s biological son. Smart and perceptive, but also very lost and lonely.
  • Tobey: C3-G4. Dawn’s hot but religiously-convicted boyfriend. Doubles as other incidental male characters as necessary.
  • Ryan: D3-Bb4. A young, technologically savvy, closeted gay teen who attends New Testament Village. Doubles as other incidental male characters as necessary.
  • Ensemble: of Promise Keeper Girls and Truthseekers:
    Promise Keeper Girls: A diverse group of young women with myriad body and personality types.
    Truthseekers: A geographically diverse group of young men with myriad body and personality types.
