Katie: KATIE is a bit more prim and proper than Lana Mae, with a touch of neurosis thrown in for good measure, and her accent is not nearly as strong. Katie learns from Lana Mae how to open up and face her fears. Mezzo-Soprano with strong belt.

SYNOPSIS: Three actors play the Lehman brothers and a variety of characters of various ages, backgrounds and genders, spanning a 160-year history (1844 - 2008). The writing style and acting needs are particularly suited to actors familiar with classical text and verse language.
Henry Lehman: The eldest brother. German Jewish immigrant from Bavaria; the first of his brothers to immigrate to the United States; the son of a cattle merchant; intelligent, resourceful, tenacious and proud of the business he is building; doubles as Philip Lehman, Pete Peterson, and others.
Emanuel Lehman: German Jewish immigrant from Bavaria; the middle brother and second to immigrate; hot-headed, intelligent, takes pride in whichever business venture it is that he is doing; often has conflict with his older brother on what is best for the business; he moves the business from the South to New York; he enjoys the finer things in life - 'always more, always better'; doubles as Herbert Lehman, Lewis Glucksman, and others.
Mayer Lehman: German Jewish immigrant from Bavaria; the youngest brother and last to immigrate; a level-headed and steady thinker; the mediator between his two elder brothers; charming, warm and ambitious; doubles as Bobby Lehman and others.

TOSHI – (25-28) Black Woman. Feisty. Impulsive. Resistant. Rough around the edges and a former drug addict. Girlfriend to Tyriek. Sister to Regine. Somewhere a deep and wise soul.
DAVIN – (35-40) Black Man. Patient. Supportive. Optimistic. Can be pushy in his positivity. Husband to Regine.
TYRIEK – (28-30) Black Man. Sharp. Calculating. Former thug looking for a second chance at life. Boyfriend to Toshi.

Maximilliano – genuine openness, heart on sleeve, nerdy but doesn’t try to hide it; gentle, very supportive and loving, a bit of a tv-nerd, non-athletic build.
Monterey – youthful, a do-gooder, studious, also heart on sleeve; unpretentious, a bit shy. During her premonitions in the play, she has a more wise, older quality.
Lydia – says what she thinks with no apologies and expects the same of others; political and bluntly humorous.
Lupe – tough love, expresses her care with sometimes harshness, sarcastic and often rolls her eyes at younger generations.
Lazaro – a machismo male, charming, but also shy when he's not comfortable; believes in his way of expressing love; not a villain just raised to be a 'man.'
