). All ages and ethnicities are encouraged to audition. All Equity roles will be understudied.

PREPARATION

Please prepare one contemporary musical theatre song no more than 90-seconds in length. An accompanist will be provided.

IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE - A NEW MUSICAL

SEEKING:

• George Bailey - The famous leading man in our story who learns what his life would be like if he were never born. Ages from 17-40 throughout the course of the show. Voice Type: Lyric Baritone- A2-A4
• Clarence, the Angel (CAST) (age: 30-50) Sent down from heaven to help George Bailey see what his life would be like if he had never been born. Voice Type: Lyric Baritone
• Uncle Billy (CAST) (age: 45-60) Forgetful doddering uncle of George Bailey. Comic timing important. Voice Type: Lyric Baritone (up to G)
• Mary Bailey - George’s wife and caretaker of the Bailey family. Ages from 16-40 throughout the course of the show. Soprano (with some light belting): A3-B5
• Harry Bailey - (age: 17-27) George’s younger brother who goes on to become a WWII hero. A sweet kid-brother type who idolizes George. Voice type: Tenor
• Violet - (age: 18-27) The small-town bad girl who carries an unrequited torch for George. Voice Type: Alto
• Sam Wainwright - (25-35) First suitor of Mary but loses to George. Comic role, energetic. Voice Type: Baritone
• Ruth / Hortense - (age: 22-30) Harry’s wife Ruth, a bank teller who is part of the Andrews Sisters-style number and doubles as various other roles. Voice type: Soprano.
• Martini - (age 35-45) Owner of Martini's bar, friend to all of Bedford Falls. Must be a high tenor (High Bb necessary)
• Mrs. Hatch / Gladys / Ensemble - (age: 38-58) Many roles throughout the show including Mary’s mother, Potter’s secretary and is featured in the Andrews Sisters-style number. Voice type: Soprano
• Mr. Bailey / Joseph - (age: 40-60) George’s father, Joseph the head Angel. Voice type: Baritone/Bass
• Janie Bailey (CAST) (16-25) Middle child of the Baileys who mimes playing the piano in the 2nd Act. Helpful if the actor has some basic piano skills.
• Pete Bailey (CAST) (12-14) Oldest child of the Baileys. He is the child who wears the Santa hat in Act 2 and is yelled at by George.
• Zuzu Bailey (CAST) (Age: 7-11) Youngest child of the Baileys. Zuzu gives George her flower and the petals become a major plot point with George with the alternate timeline.
• Tom/Bank Examiner - (age: 36-60) Voice type: Baritone/Bass
