BREAKDOWN

Marriott Theatre 2026 Dinner Theatre Season (1st Half)

Casting Note: Our goal is to create a warm and welcoming casting process. The team strives to lead with respect, kindness, and generosity. In regard to the character descriptions – they outline the characters as described in the script and in consultation with the creative team. They do not aim to be all-encompassing representations of who might fill these roles. We aim for an expansive and deliberate casting process. We acknowledge that the characters in the script are traditionally presented as either male or female (using he/him or she/her pronouns). We warmly welcome submissions from individuals who identify as gender non-conforming, genderqueer, transgender, or non-binary for the roles that resonate most with their identity.

SEEKING:

BEVERLEY & OTHERS (Female/Femme, 40s-50s, Any Ethnicity) An American Airlines pilot, Beverley has always loved flying, but her world is changed when she hears about coworkers who were killed in the attacks, and when she is confronted by passengers who refuse to fly again. Others: ANNETTE, a local teacher at the Gander Academy who assists Beulah and often lapses into fantasies about the newcomers.

BEULAH & OTHERS (Female/Femme, 40s – 60s, Any Ethnicity). Head of the Gander Legion, with a firefighter son, she befriends Hannah, walking to church and praying with her, while overcoming her suspicions of Ali. Quick-witted and open hearted, Beulah loves to share a joke.

BONNIE & OTHERS (Female/Femme, 30s – 50s, Any Ethnicity) A no-nonsense mother of 3, Bonnie is the head of the Gander area SPCA. When she discovers animals are trapped on the planes, she stops at nothing to ensure their safety – but in frustration, she sometimes lashes out at her husband, Doug.
