FIDDLER ON THE ROOF
SYNOPSIS: Tradition meets change in Fiddler on the Roof, where a family’s hopes and dreams balance on the edge of a violin’s strings. Love, faith, and the pursuit of belonging clash in this heartwarming musical.
Jewish-identifying performers are encouraged to audition.
All roles not listed have been cast.
SEEKING:
[LAZAR WOLF (TEVYE UNDERSTUDY)] Male, Jewish, 40s-60s. A wealthy butcher, Tevye’s foil. Proposes to Tzeitel before her true love, Motel, can. Will understudy the role of TEVYE - The heart of the story. A poor dairyman and leader of his household. Values his faith and family. Resistant to change. Baritone.
[PERCHIK] Male, Jewish, 20s-30s. A revolutionary student who challenges the norms of Anatevka. Passionate, idealistic, and determined to fight for change. Will double as NACHUM (the beggar) in the opening and will take part in the Bottle Dance. An excellent DANCER. Tenor.
[MORDCHA/ENSEMBLE (PERCHIK UNDERSTUDY)] Male, Jewish, 20s-30s. The Innkeeper, Will take part in the Bottle Dance – an excellent DANCER. Will understudy the role of PERCHIK. Tenor.
[AVRAM/ENSEMBLE] Male, Jewish, 30s-40s. Runs the local bookshop. Will take part in the Bottle Dance – an excellent DANCER. Singer.
