Acknowledging the entrenched structural inequities around race in the American theater, we are especially focused on addressing equity and inclusion for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) individuals within our IDEA efforts.

EPA Procedures are in effect for this audition. An Equity Monitor will be provided.

Breakdown

Parking/transportation information:

1 Bennett Square (Illinois and Peshtigo, two blocks from the front of Navy Pier) — $10 parking / 12 hrs.
Vehicle entrances to the 1 Bennett Square garage are at 456 East Illinois and 411 East Grand Avenue. Talent should ensure they give themselves enough time to walk from the garage to the theater (about 15 minutes). Additionally, they will need to ask for validation before leaving the theater.

If talent would like to park in the garage at the theater, we can validate parking for $21. If talent prefers to Uber/Lyft or rideshare, they should ask to be dropped off at the Middle Pick-up/Entrance 1 on the side. If they choose the rideshare option, they should head into the doors and go to the right, past the Funhouse and walk down the hallway until they see the Shakespeare Marquee. The theater is located on the second level. Buses near the Grand and State Red Line (29, 65) are available at Illinois and State and go directly to the Pier.

SEEKING:

LUCY GREEN - THIS ROLE HAS BEEN CAST.

SEEKING

UNDERSTUDY ONLY.

50s–60s. Female-identifying. Any ethnicity. The wife. And don’t ever call her a trophy wife, despite the immense pride she takes in how she looks and the success she portrays to the world. She is witty, funny, highly intelligent, and chews men up in the cutthroat world of finance. Lucy was #1 in her law school and had the pick of any career path. After meeting Jerry, she chose the world of big finance, where together, as a team, they set out to conquer the world. But the world had other plans and in their efforts to both be the “best,” she and Jerry have grown apart. That separation has undermined her prior unstoppable confidence. And that flaw in her armor sets her up for making one of the worst decisions of her life – bringing a random guy home from a bar.

JERRY GREEN - THIS ROLE HAS BEEN CAST.

SEEKING

UNDERSTUDY ONLY.

50s–60s. Male-identifying. The husband. The epitome of a New York finance professional. He thrives on the demanding, high-stakes world in both work and his personal life. Jerry embraces the culture of well-fitted designer suits and recognizable accessories. He’s witty, charming, popular, and has for years been slated to be the next “King Of New York.” But he hasn’t yet closed a gargantuan, billion-dollar deal. And he’s been trying for 30 years. But tonight, he’s finally done it. He’s closed the biggest merger deal in financial history and he’s ready to celebrate.

SHAUN - THIS ROLE HAS BEEN CAST.

SEEKING

UNDERSTUDY ONLY.

20s. Male-identifying. He’s good looking, charming and in very good physical shape. Despite his dalliance this evening, he’s engaged to be married. So why does he pick up Lucy at a bar and go home with her? His excuse? He gets lonely because his finance, a successful woman in her own right, lives and works in another city. But what should have been a dine & dash one night stand turns out to be an encounter Shaun never expected – a night where he is held accountable for his poor decisions.
