SEEKING:

JOHN WILKES BOOTH (30’s- Mid 40’s) An actor and passionate champion of the South during the Civil War. He is the pioneer of American assassination. Acts as a leader and mentor to the other assassins. Seeking a great actor and strong singer. Baritone.

GIUSEPPE ZANGARA (Mid 20’s- Mid 40’s) A short immigrant who failed to kill Franklin Roosevelt because he had to stand on a chair and it wobbled. Blamed capitalists and kings for his medical conditions. Seeking a great actor and strong singer. Tenor.

LEON CZOLGOSZ (30’s-40’s) The son of Polish immigrants, a worker in a glass factory. An anarchist who decided to kill William McKinley for the sake of the common man. Seeking a great actor and strong singer. Bass/baritone.

JOHN HINCKLEY (Mid 20’s-Mid 30’s) Had a sociopathic obsession with Jodie Foster and used it as his excuse to attempt an assassination of President Reagan. Ability to play guitar a plus. Seeking a great actor and a strong singer. Baritone.

SARA JANE MOORE (40’s-50’s) A five-times married FBI informer who tried to kill President Ford to re-establish her radical credentials. Seeking a great actress with excellent comedic timing who sings.

LYNETTE SQUEAKY FROMME (Mid 20’s-Mid 30’s) A member of the family of disciples of the mass murderer Charles Manson, who pulled a gun on President Ford so she could call Charlie as a witness. A flower child and a follower. Seeking a great actress and strong singer.

SAMUEL BYCK (40’s-Early 50’s) An unemployed loner who picketed the White House on Christmas Eve dressed as Santa Claus and died trying to implement his assassination plan at Baltimore-Washington International Airport. Blue collar and disgruntled. Seeking a great actor who is comfortable singing.

LEE HARVEY OSWALD (20’s) A stock boy in the Texas School Book Depository. Shot and killed President Kennedy. Withdrawn and temperamental. Seeking a great actor who is comfortable singing.

THE BALLADEER (Mid 20’s-Mid 40’s) A singing witness to national catastrophe. The conscience of America and the champion of the American dream. Ability to play guitar a plus. Seeking a great actor and strong singer. Tenor.

THE PROPRIETOR (Mid 20’s-Mid 40’s) The sly and insinuating barker of a fairground shooting gallery. He oversees the demise of the presidents and of the assassins. Omnipresent. Tenor.

Viveca (African American Woman, 20’s-M30’s) Seeking an extremely charismatic singer/dancer/actress. Must be a true triple threat with real star quality. Positive, appealing, warm, courageous and kind. Must sing & dance extremely well. Soprano/belt.

Daddy (African American Man, M40’s-50’s) Viveca’s father. A protective, hard-working man. He means well and wants the best for Viveca. He shelters her from the real world and urges her to ‘just smile’. Seeking an extremely strong actor/singer.

Mommy/Yolanda/Delilah (African American Woman, M40’s-50’s) Plays Viveca’s mother (among other roles). She doesn’t believe her daughter should be living in a fairytale and takes a tough love approach to raising Viveca. Seeking an extremely strong actor/singer.

Gregory (African American Man, L20’s-L30’s) Viveca’s friend since childhood. Handsome & appealing. Understands the world in a way Viveca doesn’t. Must be an extremely strong actor/singer.

Director Bob/Prince Charming/Cosmic (Caucasian Man, 30’s-40’s) Seeking an extremely strong actor/singer to play various roles including DIRECOTR BOB (a successful director who helps Viveca’s carrer), PRINCE CHARMING (Viveca’s fairytale love interest from childhood) & COSMIC (Viveca’s hippie boyfriend).

Miss Pain/Granny Granny/Tallulah (African American Woman, L40’s up) Seeking an extremely strong actor/singer to play roles including MISS PAIN (Viveca’s austere ballet teacher) & GRANNY GRANNY (Lucas’ advice giving grandmother).

A bossy girl who is holding auditions for the movie of her life story, Did You Hear What Happened to Chicken Soup? Imagines herself as a star. Leader of the group. The sassiest kid on her block. Confident, imaginative and full of life.

YOUNG KATHY (female age 9-13)
ADULT KATHY (female 30’s-50)
Rosie's sidekick and secretary who longs for her chance in the spotlight. Seeking an extremely strong singer/actor.

YOUNG JOHNNY (male age 9-13)
ADULT JOHNNY (male 30’s-50)
Shy and a bit nerdy. A bookworm who prefers to be alone. Seeking an extremely strong singer/actor.

YOUNG PIERRE (male age 9-13)
ADULT PIERRE (male 30’s-50)
Has a major attitude. He doesn’t care (and doesn’t care who knows it). Seeking an extremely strong singer/actor.

CHICKEN SOUP (male age 9-13) Rosie's kid brother, who Rosie (begrudgingly) has to watch. Runs away. Seeking an extremely strong singer/actor.

ALLIGATOR (male age 9-13) Kathy's brother, who believes he's actually an alligator. Seeking an extremely strong singer/actor.
