EBENEZER SCROOGE: 50s+, male. Hardened man of business, a rich miser. Secretly harbors regret for mistakes and losses of the past. Goes on a great journey of self-discovery and redemption. British dialect.
BERT THE CIDER VENDOR/ CHRISTMAS PRESENT: 30s+, male. BERT is a good cider salesman. Loves food and drink. CHRISTMAS PRESENT is rambunctious, a bit tipsy and sinister. As Bert and Present, always accompanied by two small kids. British dialect.
BETTYE PIDGEON/ CHRISTMAS PAST/ OLD JOSIE: 40s+, female. BETTYE PIDGEON- A hard working and honest doll vendor. Just trying to scrape by. Doubles as CHRISTMAS PAST, a majestic, knowing spirit who guides Scrooge into his journey of discovery. Christmas Past is a whimsical, foreboding, mysterious spirit. OLD JOSIE runs a sweatshop. A woman of the gutter & the docks. British dialect.
MR. MARVEL: 30s+, male. A charming inventor can capture a crowd with his inventions – and his description of their construction and value. British dialect.
BOB CRATCHIT: mid-30s+, male. A kind, humble, gentle, salt of the earth man. Loves his family deeply. Sees the good in Scrooge. British dialect.
FRED/ YOUNG SCROOGE: 30s+, male. FRED is jolly, good spirited, and only sees good in people. YOUNG SCROOGE is in love and on the verge of his business career. Prioritizes money and security over love. British dialect.
MRS. CRATCHIT/ MRS. FEZZIWIG/ DOLL VENDOR DOUBLE: 30s+, female. MRS. CRATCHIT is a wonderful mother with a strong heart. Endures much hardship but carries on. MRS. FEZZIWIG is a kind and happy woman, a superb party host. British dialect.
BELLE/ MRS. FRED: mid 20s, female – BELLE is Scrooge’s ex-fiancé. A free-spirited, smart woman who prioritizes love and happiness. MRS. FRED is kind and good-hearted. Tries to see the good in people. A loving mother. British dialect.
GHOSTLY APPARITION/ BEGGAR WOMAN/ FRED’S SISTER-IN-LAW: 20s+, female. APPARITION haunting Scrooge. Strong movement skills. The BEGGAR WOMAN lurks the streets of London, desperate to get by. FRED’S SISTER-IN-LAW is awkward and distracted, loves party games. British dialect.
FIRST SOLICITOR/ UNDERTAKER/ MR. FEZZIWIG: 30s+, male. SOLICITOR collecting donations for the poor and needy. Kind and community-minded, always trying to do the right thing for those in need. The UNDERTAKER is a dark and mysterious figure. Haunts Scrooge. FEZZIWIG is a gracious man who loves life and his family. A fantastic party host. British dialect.
SECOND SOLICITOR: 30s+, male. Solicitor collecting donations for the poor and needy. Kind and community-minded, always trying to do the right thing for those in need. British dialect.
