BREAKDOWN

A CHRISTMAS CAROL

Our 18th annual production is large in scale and performs in a 2,300 seat historic venue in Worcester, MA.

Last year we received counseling from AEA’s Diversity and Inclusion Associate, Elizabeth Mason. She provided guidance for conversations centered on justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion. We plan to build on those conversations this year. Learn more about The Hanover Theatre’s commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging:

SYNOPSIS:

Our musical story, accompanied by the Mighty Wurlitzer organ, explores how Ebenezer Scrooge, a wealthy British businessman in 19th century Londontown, overlooks the marginalized & impoverished characters in the community — especially his employee, Bob Cratchit. Through the visits of Scrooge’s deceased business partner, Jacob Marley, and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Christmas Present, and Christmas Yet to Come, our protagonist recognizes the ways his obsessive “pursuit of wealth” not only harms those who love(d) him, but that this path has potentially fatal consequences for some of the neediest and some of the youngest he has long ignored. Ebenezer Scrooge transforms into a compassionate, charitable, good human.

SEEKING:

Assistant stage manager:
Experience working with ZFX flying effects as well as large casts in large venues is beneficial.
Candidates of all races, ethnicities, gender identities, and those with disabilities are welcome.
