After the highly successful debut of her brand new cabaret show, "New SCHERL in Town" in April, New York born vocalist Wendy Scherl is offering two additional performances this October at Don't Tell Mama.

Directed by Barry Kleinbort, with musical direction by Christopher Denny, "New SCHERL in Town" gives Wendy the chance to explore a wide range of musical emotions as she continues her journey of self-discovery and acceptance... sharing the things she's learned along the way, admitting the things she STILL has to learn, and confirming some of the things that she believes matter most.

Backed by the sterling trio of Christopher Denny on piano, Bob Renino on bass, and Rex Benincasa on drums, musical selections include her recent foray into the realm of standards from the Great American Songbook by Jerome Kern and Irving Berlin, alongside smatterings of Bob Dylan, David Yazbeck, and William Finn. There are also a handful of rarities from writers as diverse as Rusty Magee, Marvin Hamlisch and Moose Charlap.

All of these selections are filtered through Wendy's warmly expressive vocal stylings (what BroadwayWorld referred to as "a soaring, laser sharp alto,") her winning rapport with an audience and her gift for musical communication.

You have only two more chances to do so. Encore performances are at Don't Tell Mama 343 West 46th Street on October 1st at 4pm and October 11 at 930pm.. There is a $20 cover and a two drink minimum. Reservations can be made by calling Don't Tell Mama at 212-757-0788 or at www.donttellmama.com.
