The Professional Conservatory of Musical Theatre at the New York Film Academy proudly presents RECLAIMING OUR TIME: AN EMPOWERMENT REVUE on May 4-6th, 2018.
Reclaiming Our Time is a musical tapestry celebrating women in all of their wonderful complexities. Through a multitude of musical styles, 7 extraordinary women explore their connections with others, their frustrations with love and heartbreak, and the desire to destroy glass ceilings - all while being fierce.
In the era of the #metoo movement and inspired by the viral explosion of Maxine Water's "Reclaiming my time", this important musical revue was brought to life. It is a tribute to the power of women working together to make their voices heard.
This brand new musical revue was co-conceived by Johanna Pinzler and Joshua Zecher-Ross. Johanna also serves as director, with Joshua as music director. The cast includes current PCMT @ NYFA Students: Krystal Kane, Elena Lozonschi, Abby Luke, Madeline Mancebo, Catarina Marcato, Carly McClain, Damaris Olivo, and Sarah Venners.
The musical theatre department at the New York Film Academy (now known as the Professional Conservatory of Musical Theatre) was launched in 2009 with nine students in the first class. Nine years later, hundreds of students have studied musical theatre at NYFA, and the department now boasts a healthy faculty roster of over 75 professionals working in the industry today.
RECLAIMING OUR TIME: AN EMPOWERMENT REVUE plays The Theatre @ NYFA (17 Battery Place, 1st Floor, New York, NY 10004) on Friday May 4th, 2018, at 7:30pm, Saturday May 5th 2018 at 3 & 7:30 PM, and Sunday May 6th 2018 at 1 PM.
