On Thursday, October 7th Sweet and Nasty Burlesque returns to Coney Island's Burlesque At The Beach for AMAKU OYOBI YAKKI!, a night of tassel-twirling tributes to Japanese pop culture and pan-dimensional striptease, hosted by special guest star Kobayashi Maru.
A resident of Tokyo's Okoge Prefecture and third-generation product of the Tyrell Corporation, Maru will make her American hosting debut on the Sweet and Nasty Stage. "Kobayashi rarely visits this dimension, let alone Brooklyn," says Sweet and Nasty producer Nasty Canasta. "And when the Borg Queen of Burlesque asks to host your show on Coney Island - well, you just don't resist." When asked what she has planned for the show, Maru replied, "There will be many lovely surprises with my naked American friends [faulty translation matrix] 1010111001101001. End of line."Since 2006, Sweet and Nasty has been adding its own unique mix of glam camp, historical fact, and blatant lies to the New York burlesque scene. Their Coney Island extravaganza AMAKU OYOBI YAKKI! will feature seldom-seen acts, debut performances, a high-stakes audience haiku competition, and rare treats and surprises from beyond the stars.Videos
