St. Paul and St. Andrew UMC is a diverse, progressive, welcoming and growing congregation rooted in Manhattan's Upper West Side. The Church is known for its work in racial, economic, and environmental justice, interfaith action, radical hospitality and inclusiveness. SPSA has emerged as a center for community action and engagement, housing an emergency food pantry, homeless shelter, after school tutoring program and meals on wheels deliveries for the elderly. SPSA also partners with congregations of other denominations and faiths, theater and arts groups and social justice advocacy groups to build a more just and peaceful world.

St. Paul and St. Andrew seeks to build a community of radical welcome that follows Jesus into the streets of the city to increase the amount of love and justice in the world. SPSA seeks to be a catalyst for love-inspired action and social justice; to nurture and inspire Jesus' followers through dynamic worship and relationship-building to transform ourselves and the world; to teach and live progressive Christian values (including racial and gender equity, interfaith partnership, and LGBTQI affirmation) in service of the empowerment of the last, the lost, and the least; and to raise up future generations by fostering a congregation of all ages that fosters young leaders and at-risk communities.
