Feinstein's/54 Below, Broadway's Supper Club, presents an evening of Broadway Bluegrass with The NYCity Slickers.

The NYCity Slickers will present present Broadway Bluegrass, Broadway tunes with kick-ass bluegrass style arrangements. One of NYC's premier Americana bluegrass bands, the NYCity Slickers are an eight-piece, high energy, band which combines the wailing tight harmonies of three gal singers with the hard driving sound of five Broadway musicians on banjo, guitar, mandolin, fiddle, bass & accordion. With female-fronted, three-part harmony driven arrangements, The NYCity Slickers depart from traditional male-driven bluegrass resulting in a synthesis of the Dixie Chicks, Pistol Annies and Rhonda Vincent. Their unique "City Style Bluegrass" is an eclectic mix of traditional bluegrass, Americana pop, delta blues, zydeco, gospel, originals and covers.

The NYCity Slickers will be joined by several Broadway actors (to be announced), performing everything Broadway with a bluegrass twang. Get ready to side step your way to Feinstein's/54 Below on April 7, 2017! Tickets are available at 54below.com/events/broadway-bluegrass-nycity-slickers.

The NYCity Slickers recently returned from Oxford, Mississippi, where they debuted two original and commissioned songs for Thacker Mountain Radio's live NPR broadcast based on the heroic memoir, "Trials of the Earth," of Mississippi Delta pioneer, Mary Hamilton. Planning to head back in the studio in 2017, these two 'Trials of the Earth" originals, "Delta Rising" and "Mystery Man" will be featured on their new album. In addition to monthly NYC gigs, recent NYCity Slickers highlights include: a two week sold out tour of Norway; the sold-out "Bluegrass Mass" for Millsaps College Arts & Lecture Concert with the Millsaps Singers' 50 voice choir; NYC's Central Park concert, opening for 4 time Grammy winner Marty Stuart and his Superlative Band; Sounds of Summer Concert Series at Jersey City, City Hall Plaza; Riverside Park Summer Concert Series; headliner band at the Busy Bird Bluegrass Festival in Berkshire, NY; the legendary Bitter End in NYC and performance on the historic Lilac vessel anchored in the NYC Hudson River.

The NYCity Slickers launched their debut albuum, LAYIN IT DOWN, on September 8, 2011. The album captured the culmination of the first 3 years of the Slickers collaboration in which they defined their unique, original sound. Departing from traditional male-driven bluegrass, they have often been described as the "Andrew Sisters meet Bill Monroe." Composed of 13 songs, eight of which are original. The CD reflects the eclectic mix of musical styles that has become characteristic of the NYCity Slickers' Signature Sound. These 13 songs range in style from traditional bluegrass covers, Delta blues, zydeco and country pop. To capture the energy of one of their live shows, the NYCity Slickers recorded the album live in one studio at Dubway Studios in NYC. LAYIN' IT DOWN and their second album, COTTON COMET SKY are available through iTunes, CD Baby, Amazon & NYCitySlickers.com. In 2014 the NYCity Slickers embarked on a 2 week sold-out Norway Tour, sponsored in part by the US Embassy in Oslo, the Nordkapp Film Festival, and the Finnmark Fylkeskommune. The tour kicked-off the North Cape Film Festival and included sold-out concerts at Perleporten, Klimpt Live, Kampen Bistro, Bryggerhuset Syd Halden and a gospel concert in Honningsva?g. In addition to their tour concerts, the Slickers gave a workshop on bluegrass/Americana roots music culminating in a concert with the Honningsva?g Blandakor Choir and Finnmark Opera Company.

The NYCity Slickers Band Features vocalists Annie Chadwick, Abigail Hardin and Kim Harris with instrumentalists Andrew Baird (Guitar); Faser Hardin (Banjo, Accordion & Hammered Dulcimer); Jens Kramer (Fiddle); Brendan O'Grady (Bass) and Greg Utzig (Mandolin).
