Michael Musto's 70'S DISCO EXTRAVAGANZA to Play 54 Below, 2/17

The mirror ball has relocated to the cellar with Michael Musto'S 70s DISCO EXTRAVAGANZA at 54 BELOW. Sunday, February 17, starting at 9:30PM, join downtown legend, disco diva, and Village Voice columnist Michael Musto with his glittery sidekicks Snooky and Tish as he performs live with disco cover band The Elektrik Company. Michael's special guest star for the evening will be Orfeh (Legally Blonde, Saturday Night Fever). We are pushing tables and chairs aside to make way for the dance floor, so grab a cocktail and shake your groove thing into the wee hours as the 54 Below returns to its fabulous roots.

"I was at the original Studio 54 -- every night -- so it'll be refreshing for me to recreate the disco classics of my youth, this time for people who are only on prescription drugs," says Musto. "This won't be my professional debut, by the way. I fronted a cover band for five years and while I might not exactly keep the spirit of Donna Summer alive with my vocals, I do a mean Peaches and Herb."

54 BELOW, Broadway's nightclub, is the new performance venue in the grand tradition of New York City nightlife. Marrero is the Executive Chef of the new venue, which provides a food and beverage menu from early evening through the wee hours of the morning that is worthy of the world-class entertainment on the stage. Bringing together his love of the arts with his passion for cooking and hospitality, Chef André has created a market driven contemporary bistro menu that includes ingredients sourced from all over the world.

54 BELOW is owned and operated by Tony Award winning producers Tom Viertel, Marc Routh, Richard Frankel, and Steven Baruch. 54 BELOW features up to three shows nightly and has audio and video recording capabilities. The cover charge ranges from $5-$85.
