Critically-acclaimed musical theater singer and comedic cabaret artist Maureen McVerry presents her Solo Cabaret Show, LOVE WILL KICK YOUR ASS, an eclectic selection of songs celebrating love, life, loss and lyrics, at Feinstein's at the Nikko - San Francisco's most elegant nightclub. Maureen will be accompanied by three-piece combo including:

Johnny Verry - bass, Roberta Drake - percussion, with piano and Musical Direction
by Dave Dobrusky. The show is directed by Rick Simas.

Acclaimed singer and performer Maureen McVerry is elated to be presenting her newest Solo show and making her debut at Feinstein's at the Nikko. In 1993 Maureen created VERRY McVERRY her ever evolving Cabaret Show and performed it on and off for over 20 years in the Bay Area. As a cabaret singer in SF she has performed at the New Conservatory Theatre, Herbst Theatre, the Plush Room, the Venetian Room and the Alcazar. VERRY McVERRY has also been performed at 88's in NYC and the Gardenia Room in LA, and at other venues nationally. (2012 nominated for Best Solo Show BATCCA.)

As a stage actress Ms. McVerry celebrates over 35 years in the theatre. At ACT she played Eliza Doolittle in Pygmalion, Kitty Packard in Dinner at Eight, the Gypsy in Scapin, Carrie in the House of Mirth, and Sister Gabriella in the infamous The Pope and the Witch. At ACT she also played Mrs. Schlemiel in Schlemiel the First and went on with the show to the ART in Cambridge, MA and the Geffen Playhouse in LA. McVerry was featured as Kay in the SF Shakespeare Festival production of Oh Kay! and in two long-running SF shows, Noises Off and The Curse of the Werewolf. At Marin Theatre Company she has appeared in Side by Side by Sondheim, You're Gonna Love Tomorrow, Born Yesterday, Me and My Girl, and Room Service. Maureen has also appeared in four different productions of Noises Off and gladly would do that show weekly to stay in shape. At 42nd St Moon she has appeared in several shows: Pardon My English TCCBA award) High Spirits, Wildcat*, Very Warm For May*, Student Gypsy, and directed the successful revival of Oh Kay! In 2011. At Theatreworks, Lady Bracknell in Being Earnest, Jack's mother in Into The Woods and Sylvia in Learned Ladies of Park Avenue*. She played Clara * in Sex at the Aurora Theatre. At Center Rep, the hit musicals, BINGO * and XANADU - her first Shelly nomination as Calliope. In 2014 at SF Playhouse, she reprised her role as a Jack's mother in Into The Woods, which she plays 24/7 (her son's name is Jack). (* means nomination) In 2016 she played Georgette in It Shoulda Been You, and she just played Pauline in No, No, Nannette at 42nd Street Moon (May 2017).

She is the winner of six Bay Area Theatre Critics' Circle Awards (BATCC) and two Drama-Logue Awards. McVerry's film credits include Nine Months, The Dead Pool, True Believer, Big Business, The Ox and the Eye, and on TV in "Full House..

On the Peninsula, Maureen runs highly successful children's camps under the banner, Maureen McVerry's Musical Theatre Camps. The motto of the camps is " where children learn to play on and off the stage." For this work she has been told she will be given entry into heaven with no questions asked. She was married to Rick Alber, who was known as "Dr. Web" on KGO radio. Sadly, Rick passed away suddenly in 2014. She has two children, Jack and Flannery.
