Born in Raleigh, NC. Julie Foldesi moved to NYC to pursue her dreams of being on Broadway. She has made her living ever since doing Broadway and various theater projects. She has appeared on Broadway in Little Women and The Full Monty and can currently be seen in Lincoln Center’s Tony Award Winning Revival of South Pacific. Julie started writing songs about 5 years ago and started playing with a band around NYC. A little over a year ago, Julie met up with bluegrass musician/arranger/producer Dick Neal, and was thrilled to find her new sound. She has just released her first full length album, THIS PART OF TOWN. It's sort of funky bluegrass, or bluesy bluegrass or Country with a message. This is a follow up to her EP which was produced by composer Adam Guettel.

Deborah Blumenthal of the 8th Avenue Observer said about THIS PART OF TOWN,

“It’s country without being too country, pop without erring too mainstream, and just folksy enough to feel current. Her lyrics span from romantic to fearlessly political, creating a collection of songs that is cohesive but diverse. Paired with Foldesi’s beautifully crystal-clear vocals, This Part of Town strikes the right balance, embodying, as the song ‘Country Girl’ expresses, ‘a country girl livin’ in the city.’”
