Joe's Pub at The Public Theater debuted in October 1998 and has quickly became one of New York City's most celebrated and in-demand showcase venues for live music and performance. With its genre-blind booking and vast diversity of interests, the stage at Joe's Pub gives voice to a world of varied and stellar artists.

Our Hit Parade is a live top-ten countdown show created by Tony nominee and Obie winner Kenny Mellman (Kiki & Herb), carnal chanteuse Bridget Everett (At Least It's Pink at Ars Nova), pop song opera impresario Neal Medlyn (Neal Medlyn's Unpronounceable Symbol at P.S. 122), producer and MTV cameraman Brendan Kennedy, and writers Ada Calhoun and Peter Schjeldahl. The show is inspired by the musical sketch series "Your Hit Parade" that ran on radio and then television from 1935 to 1959. On that show, cast members performed the week's most popular songs as comically literal skits. In this show, the hosts and special guest stars from the local performance scene present their renditions of current popular hits live on stage! $20

Sofia Rei Koutsovitis is one of New York's most passionate, charismatic and inventive vocalists, who brings depth and fullness of a riveting voice to her second album, "Sube Azul" (World Village/Harmonia Mundi). She also serves as the album's composer, arranger, lyricist and - with bassist Jorge Roeder - producer. Following up on "Ojalá," her polyglot and multilingual debut, she offers this time a collection of mostly original Spanish-language songs, building on a new set of growth experiences since moving to New York in 2005.

Originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, the album is grounded in traditional South American rhythms such as chacarera, zamba and vidala from Argentina, Afro-peruvian festejo and lando, Afro-Uruguayan candombe, Colombian cumbia and bullerengue and other genres that merge involving jazz harmonies, electronic sounds and rich improvisations. Singing in Spanish, Portuguese or English, Sofia's voice is graceful as well as sophisticated, tying together diverse influences in a program full of rhythmic complexity, melody and romance.

Sofia is a restless artist, one of the most versatile and in-demand singers on the New York music scene. HANNE HUKKELBERG

Norwegian singer Hanne Hukkelberg's 2005 debut album Little Things was a charming impression of life in Oslo, notable for its imaginative use of found sounds and eclectic array of instrumentation. Her elfin but idiosyncratic persona coupled with a lazily seductive voice drew comparisons to everyone from Joanna Newsom and Björk, to Stina Nordenstam and Billie Holliday. Her sophomore album Rykestrasse 68, her first since signing to Canadian label Nettwerk, is a tribute to the six months she recently spent living in Berlin and is far less whimsical, with a moodier, more widescreen production. Like her debut, it was produced by Kåre Vestrheim at Propeller Studios in Oslo and features contributions from the cream of the Norwegian music scene, including members of Jaga Jazzist, Dinosau and Shining. While it shares its predecessor's wide-eyed wonderment, Hukkelberg's experimentation reaches maturity here. An album of contrasts, it is a testament to Hukkelberg's skill that she manages to make such a personal work so inviting.

Hukkelberg started singing and playing instruments in her home town of Kongsberg, Norway at the age of 3 and later played in various jazz, rock and free jazz bands including a high school heavy metal act called Funeral. A graduate of the Norwegian Academy of Music, she has also gained a reputation as a powerful live performer, her shows full of typically Scandinavian absurdist humor. $14

THE ROZZ & VAL SHOW / SHINE & THE MOONBEAMS

The Rozz & Val Show is musical duo from Brooklyn made up of longtime collaborators Rozz Nash-Coulon and Andrew Vladeck. Their music incorporates tight harmony singing and high-energy pop, rock, ska, hiphop, punk and folk to make for a sing-along-able, danceable, fun-filled show. Both Rozz and Val have worked in childhood education and music, traveling much of the world with various projects. Last year they decided to draw on their experiences to create a family-oriented project. "The Rozz & Val Show" has already released their first CD and series of music videos. They are currently performing for events and parties both public and private.

Shine and The Moonbeams invites kids to stomp their feet, clap their hands and sing la, la la la to melodic and soulful tunes. Join them as they climb Kilimanjaro, stick up for Tallulah and find the Boogie right above the knees. Shine and the Moonbeams are singer -songwriter Shawana Kemp and guitarist John Heagle, two New York musicians who have collectively been in every musical genre from Musical Theatre to the circus. They have combined their unique perspectives to create a soulful musical extravaganza that captures the sweetness, uncertainty and simplicity of youth. John currently plays with the faux French garage-rockers Les Sans Culottes. Shawana works in NYC public schools as a teaching artist and is the mother of a three year old. $15 adults / $10 children under 12

Jonathan Groff

Jonathan Groff's recent successes include his role as Melchior Gabor in the Tony Award-winning musical Spring Awakening where he originated the role off-Broadway with the Atlantic Theater Company before reprising it on Broadway, earning a Theatre World Award as well as Drama Desk, Drama League, and Tony Award nominations. He then took on the famed role of Claude Hooper Bukowski in The Public Theater's hit revival of the ‘60s rock musical Hair. After his feature film debut in Taking Woodstock, Mr. Groff returned to the off-Broadway stage at Playwrights Horizons (Prayer for My Enemy) and then The Public Theater in the New York premiere of Craig Lucas' play The Singing Forest. The Pennsylvania native's other stage work includes the Broadway musical In My Life and regional tours of The Sound of Music, Fame, Bat Boy, and Honk!

For television, Mr. Groff had a recurring role in 2007 on the serial One Life to Live and starred with Joseph Fiennes, Carrie-Anne Moss, Blythe Danner, and Robert Wagner in Ryan Murphy's cable series pilot Pretty/Handsome. $23
