Jake Simpson Brings ISN'T HE LOVELY to Martinis Above Fourth Today

Today, Thursday, August 7 at 8:00 PM, Martinis Above Fourth Table + Stage in San Diego presents R & B Soul Singer, Star Search Winner and "Oprah Discovered" Jake Simpson in "Isn't He Lovely - A Look back at the Wondrous Life of Stevie Wonder."

Simpson, Motown recording artist, two-time winner in the Adult Singer category on CBS's Star Search with his powerful high tenor voice and three-octave range, and recently featured on "Oprah: Where Are They Now" will be appearing for a one-night only performance.

"ISN'T HE LOVELY!" is a loving look back at the wondrous musical life of Stevie Wonder starring Jake Simpson. Jake and his fellow musicians perform the best of 70s & 80s R&B and Soul including audience favorites from STEVIE WONDER, MICHAEL JACKSON, REV. AL GREEN, MAXWELL, CHAKA KHAN & RUFUS and more, as well as originals like "I See You" which debuted on Oprah: Where Are They Now?"

Growing up in Crocker, Missouri, making music has been one of the most important driving forces in Jake's life. His sound has been influenced by Stevie Wonder, Steve Perry, Donny Hathaway and the classic style of Sam Cooke.

After would-be pop star Jake Simpson finished his performance of Stevie Wonder's "Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I'm Yours," the celebrity judges of CBS' 2003 Star Search revival were stunned, to say the least. Saying more than that, Naomi Judd exclaimed, "You make my molecules vibrate at a high frequency -- you're a sonic blast!" After an endorsement like that, how could he lose? The nationwide fan voting for Simpson was enthusiastic, and the young singer from Crocker, MO, walked away with the victory, receiving $100,000 and a recording contract with Sony/Columbia.

This past summer, Jake starred in the Roll & Roll revue entitled Arena: Born To Rock performing weekly at Rolling Stone Los Angeles in Hollywood.

Currently, Mr. Simpson's new show entitled "Jake Simpson Live!" performs - in residence - every Sunday at The Grove in Los Angeles.
