Former Cazenovia Resident To Premiere One Man Show At The New Redhouse

Redhouse Arts Center is thrilled to welcomes back comic actor and audience favorite, Steve Hayes for the premier of his hilarious one-man show Raised by Warner Brothers, Born in Syracuse. Performances will take place April 13th and 14th a at the brand new Redhouse at City Center, located at 400 South Salina Street. Redhouse audiences are very familiar with Steve Hayes who most recently starred in Six Degrees of Separation and Beauty and the Beast at Redhouse.

In the premier of his one man show, Hayes makes merry as he tells stories about his experience as a movie obsessed Central New York child who grows up to become a movie obsessed New York City actor. "When I die," he quips, "Joan Crawford's life will flash before my eyes." Steve has long been an award-winning comedian on the NYC cabaret scene. Over the years he's branched out into movies, theatre, television, and the Internet with his ongoing YouTube series, Steve Hayes: Tired Old Queen at the Movies and he also starred in Fine Line Feature's "TRICK. Stage credits include Connecticut Repertory Theater's Nutmeg Series he played Horton in Suessical: The Musical, Pseudolis in A Funny Thing Happened On the Way To The Forum, Mayor Shinn in The Music Man, The Barber in Man Of La Mancha starring Terance Mann, Calliope in Xanadu & Twimble/Womper in How To Succeed... directed by Vincent J. Cardinal. He was also the Modern Major General in The Pirates Of Penzance directed by Terrance Mann. He played Edna in Hairspray, Polonius in Hamlet and Wendall in The Penguin Tango at the Red House Arts Center, Syracuse. He is featured in the film "Hooked" written & directed by Max Emerson.

Being able to return to Syracuse to premier his new show at the Redhouse Arts Center new home has special meaning to Steve. "I'm honored and excited to be performing my one- person show at the brand new Redhouse Arts Center in downtown Syracuse. Raised, a short distance from the city, I spent a great deal of time in the area until I moved to New York to pursue my career in my twenties. One of the joys of my life has been coming back to perform in various productions at The Redhouse, starting with my previous one-man show STEVE HAYES: Hollywood Reunion, followed by Hairspray, Hamlet, The Penguin Tango,
Beauty and the Beast, Six Degrees Of Separation. And this June La Cage Aux Folles in the

new Main Stage theatre, May 31-June 10th. The Redhouse is such an incredible place to work. The people, the atmosphere, and the audience support brings a freshness to all the productions and an infectious sense of joy. I'm thrilled and delighted to be coming home to the new Redhouse. I wouldn't miss it for the world!"
