Wings Theatre Co Presents REPO: The Genetic Opera with Pre-show, Guests ETC

Saturday July 10th, 2010 Wings Theatre Company hosts Repo: The Genetic Opera (REPO!) for a special engagement movie screening and shadowcast performance by the Zydrate Enthusiasts Network (ZEN). Pre-show entertainment featuring a live presentation of The Necromerchants Debt will start at 11pm with REPO! beginning at midnight. ZEN welcomes stage and screen REPO! alumni CJ DeAngelus as well as actor Tony Perry who appeared as The Repo Man in the NYC stage production held at Wings Theatre in 2005.

PRE-SHOW: The Necromerchants Debt is a ten-minute opera which was performed in Los Angeles by a two-some dubbed The Gallery. The Gallery was comprised of REPO! masterminds Terrance Zdunich and Darren Smith who later expanded this story into the movie we know as REPO! ZEN's own talented musicians and performers, nicknamed "The Peanut Gallery," will take to the stage and perform this REPO! precursor to kick off the evening.

REPO! is a goth, rock, horror, movie musical that takes place in the year 2056 - the not so distant future - when an epidemic of organ failures has devastated the planet. Out of the tragedy, a savior emerges: GeneCo, a biotech company that not only offers organ transplants but has seen to the legalization of organ repossessions. Pay for your surgery in easy low cost installments if you wish but those who find themselves 90 days delinquent are scheduled for repossession and hunted by villainous Repo men. In a world where surgery addicts are hooked on painkilling drugs and murder is sanctioned by law, a sheltered young girl searches for the cure to her own rare disease as well as information about her family's mysterious history. Debts are paid and scores are settled as tragedy leads to triumph at GeneCo's Genetic Opera celebration.
