Teatro Grattacielo Announces New Board Member, Sung Shin

Teatro Grattacielo's General and Artistic Director Stefanos Koroneos and the Board of Directors are proud to announce the addition of a new Board Member: Sung Shin. With a passion for opera and a wealth of experience in the industry, Sung Shin brings a unique perspective and invaluable expertise to the organization.

Sung Shin is a Korean-American baritone with an impressive repertoire, having performed in numerous productions including I Pagliacci, Albert Herring, and Die Fledermaus. His dedication to the art of opera is evident through his academic achievements, having received a Bachelor of Music from The Manhattan School of Music and a Graduate Professional Diploma from the Hartt School of Music.

After transitioning from a successful singing career, Sung Shin has continued to make a significant impact on the opera community. As a member of the Premiere Opera Foundation's Board of Directors, he has been instrumental in shaping the future of the industry. Additionally, his role as the Founder and Director of Opera Under the Arch (which he remains the Director of) has demonstrated his commitment to bringing the beauty of opera to a wider audience, with free concerts at Washington Square Park in NYC, a program that will be continued under the umbrella of Teatro Grattacielo and in conjunction with educational outreach "Creative Tableaux".

"We are looking forward to keeping reaching to communities around the city and beyond bringing opera and the joy of the artform with Opera Under the Arch", says Stefanos Koroneos.

In a statement, Sung Shin expressed his enthusiasm for joining Teatro Grattacielo's board: "It is my honor to join the Board of Directors of an organization that I have respected for many years. I look forward to working with Stefanos Koroneos and the rest of the Teatro Grattacielo team as we continue to carry on the company mission and vision."

Teatro Grattacielo is honored to welcome Sung Shin to its Board of Directors and looks forward to benefiting from his vision and leadership as the organization continues to enrich the world of opera.

Sung joins Enzo Pizzimenti (President of the Board), Katharine Maxwell, David Santiago, Louis Tallarini, John Metcalfe, Marco Mastracci and Suzanne Marie Musho, active members of the Board of Directors.
