OperaDelaware Presents THE PEARL FISHERS Tonight

Tonight, March 7th (7:30pm) and Sunday, March 9 (2pm) we present Bizet's Les pêcheurs de perles (The Pearl Fishers) in concert. Although less well-known than Carmen, it is every bit as memorable! English supertitles will be provided in order to help follow the story; you won't even miss the sets or costumes!

Zurga, king of the pearl fishers, and his childhood friend Nadir took an oath to always put their friendship before their mutual love for the beautiful Léïla(and reaffirm that oath in a duet you are sure to recognize!) Their friendship is threatened when Léïla suddenly reappears after more than a year. Bizet's talents are on full display in this romantic masterpiece.

If you are more visually oriented - we have you covered! The amazingly creative and talented Lee Zimmermanwill perform LIVE silk-screen painting as part of this performance...as the story unfolds, Mr. Zimmerman will create a back-drop before your very eyes!
