Opera Omaha proudly presents Madama Butterfly, Friday, April 15 at 7:30pm and Sunday, April 17, at 2:00pm. Back for an encore performance after achieving nationwide success, this wildly-popular 2006 Omaha production features the original breathtaking designs from world-renowned Omaha artist Jun Kaneko.

Get ready for more sellout performances with vivid colors, lovely arias, artful dialogue and Puccini's rich musical compositions in this poetic journey through love and tragedy. Set in 20th century Nagasaki, Cio-Cio-San, known as the sweet Geisha Madama Butterfly, and US Navy Lieutenant Pinkerton celebrate their wedding. She patiently awaits his return, unaware he has married another woman.

The cast features Mihoko Kinoshita as Madama Butterfly, Mika Shigematsu, Gerard Powers, Todd Thomas and Jason Ferran.
