David Robertson will conduct the MET Orchestra concert at Carnegie Hall on May 29, 2012, replacing James Levine, who is continuing his rehabilitation after a fall last September. The concert program remains as originally planned with violinist Christian Tetzlaff as soloist:

Mozart – Adagio for Violin and Orchestra in E, K. 261
Mendelssohn – Violin Concerto in E minor, Op. 64
Schoenberg – Violin Concerto, Op. 36

Robertson, who conducts Britten’s Billy Budd at the Met this coming May, made his company debut in 1996 leading the new production premiere of Janá?ek’s The Makropoulos Case. He has since conducted Mozart’s Die Entführung aus dem Serail and Bizet’s Carmen at the MeT. Robertson is the Music Director of the St. Louis Symphony and Principal Guest Conductor of the BBC Symphony and regularly conducts many of the world’s most prestigious orchestras.
