Greek-Russian conductor Teodor Currentzis has withdrawn from making his Royal Opera debut conducting Krzysztof Warlikowski's new production of From the House of the Dead at the Royal Opera House.

Teodor Currentzis said: 'It is with deep regret that I have had to withdraw from the new production of From the House of the Dead. It has not been an easy decision for me to make, and I am deeply disappointed to be letting both The Royal Opera and director Krzysztof Warlikowski down at this late stage.'
