Armiliato to Conduct Verdi's AIDA on 3/26, 3/31 & 4/1 at The Met

Marco Armiliato will conduct Verdi's Aida on March 26, 31, and April 3 matinee, replacing Paolo Carignani, who has withdrawn due to illness.

This season, Marco Armiliato conducts performances of the new production of Attila on March 19, 22, and 27, as well as the revivals of La Fille du Régiment and La Bohème. He will also conduct the Metropolitan Opera National Council Grand Finals Concert on March 14. Last season, he conducted Act III of Manon at the Opening Night Gala starring Renée Fleming and the new production of La Rondine, both shown live in HD, as well as Lucia di Lammermoor and Adriana Lecouvreur. Since making his Met debut with La Bohème in 1998, Armiliato has led the Met premiere of Wolf-Ferrari's Sly (2002), the United Sates premiere of Cyrano de Bergerac (2005), in addition to performances of Turandot, Madama Butterfly, Aida, Rigoletto, La Traviata, Cavalleria Rusticana, Pagliacci, and Andrea Chénier.

Aida features Hui He in her Met debut as the title role, Dolora Zajick as Amneris, Salvatore Licitra as Radamès, Carlo Guelfi as Amonasro, Carlo Colombara as Ramfis, and Stefan Kocán as the King.
